Anybody have a knife that resides only in their vehicle?

I always have a SAK (Climber or Huntsman) in my sunglass compartment and a leatherman (Juice) in my ashtray.

I have a Victorinox Safari Trooper. It has a variety of tools and a nasty saw. I also have another random folder in my car kit in the trunk, alongside a number of things, ranging from tools to water and clothes. I live in upstate NY. Occasionaly, I will go to the city and and apparently any knife that can be flicked open and locks is a switchblade. So, the Victorinox resides in my car.

Check out the Trooper if you have not. Often overlooked, but a wonderful knife.

As someone who has had my car broken into, I cringe at the thought of keeping a Busse in mine. Yikes.

I have a lot of good, but cheap stuff in mine.

Leatherman Surge and a CRKT First Strike ride in my truck every day. Usually have a SAK in my pocket too.

Entrek Javalina, 1st aid kit and fire kit in driver door.
Machete, small shovel, food water, etc behind seat of truck

Have a Gerber Rivermate in the center console for cutting seat belts, and a TAK1(non-serrated) in D2 steel in the trunk.

I keep an Opinel #8 in the glove compartment. Its a useful little knife which comes in handy when I find myself without a knife on the hip or in the pocket and I need to cut something. The philosophy is that if I'm not at home my car will almost always be with me. Its great for opining packages and food related shores.

I have a B.O.B. at all times in the vehicle. My B.O.B. knife is a Mora 511. Good enough for the kit, cheap enough not to have to worry about it going missing.

this is a sad statement, but one i agree with ... i have a number of items in the truck (Leatherman, bike toolkit, HF transceiver, and soon, a few low-end fixed blades), but would sorely miss a few items that i deem irreplaceable...

I keep a bent Ka-Bar in my trunk. Warranty doesn't cover bent steel, and it's still usable, so in the trunk it goes. I'll never carry it in the woods again, but in a pinch it'll do -- even with the f#&$ed up bent blade. :D

I used to carry a RAT-7 and SAK until someone broke into my truck and made off with 'em. Hope he's liking them as much as I did.
Now i just have a RAT-1 folder hidden away.

They aren't fancy or expensive, but then again my vehicle is pretty easy to break into.

Leatherman wave and Surefire L4 live full time in the driver's door. My BOB goes with me in the car, I actually use the contents all the time. Dozier KS-3 and Gerber saw in BOB.

An Entrek Badger lives in my car. Hefty enough to get most jobs done, but I think it's small enough to not freak-out the police if they should ever come across it.

I have an el cheapo chinese sak that lives in my glove box. It has so much blade play (both sideways and front-back) that it's actually fun to jiggle the blade around in circles :D

currently I've got a generic cheapo multi-tool as part of the emergency kit in the back, but it's a really shonky bit of kit.
Problem is, I can't put my spare locking leatherman (either a fuse or an origional supertool) or any other locking/fixed blade in there, since it could lead to legal issues if the car was searched (and if you where a cop and saw my car, you'd pull it over) so I'm looking at replacing it with a basic SAK, since i've got proper pliars and screwdrivers in the kit anyway.
