Anybody know what happened with the logo contest?

I have less than 30 skylines left to ship and then it's off to SHOT show. I'll try to post the finalists shortly.
 
I just went and looked at all the logos in the original thread, there were well over 250 submissions. But some have been taken down (maybe out of frustration over the amount of time this has taken). In my opinion more than half are solid designs, half of those are better than the old logo (and more portable) and there are at least 25 that are really fantastic. I would have to say it would be a damn hard choice to make at this time for anyone with so many entries and so much effort by so many people.

Spark, honestly, I wouldn't want to have to make the choice myself, but dude, you started this almost 6 months ago and closed the contest 4 months ago. I hope you can make the choice soon. Sure, there will be some disappointed people but this has gone on too long "In My Humble Yet Brutally Honest Opinion". If you have to put the logos that you don't hate in a hat and draw one out and live with it. ;).

Even if you decide that you want to keep the old logo you might want to award somebody something for the efforts we all put in.

Look at all the visits to the original thread (48,000 there, +2900 hits in this thread!), Just Sayin that 50,000 hits is a boat load of interest that has gone unanswered.

I haven't forgotten about this, I promise. We just cleared a server bot attack and we're dealing with issues but this is on my shortlist.
 
There are some really talented people that have submitted designs so far. I was just browsing through the thread and wow. You all are talented in the graphics department, no doubt about it. I saw at least 20 designs that would be suitable for print and publications. :thumbup: great job everyone.

Really there's a bunch that I'd love to use on tshirts, but for the site logo, there can only be one. And it needs to have a knife in it.

Please, post a winner... or just say that that logo contest it was a joke so we won't wait.

Based on feedback and my arbitrary opinion it's narrowed down to three:

Ivankerley's top logo here is the frontrunner at this time.

I'm going to notify these guys and let them know that they are the finalists and give them a chance to rework and resubmit if they so choose.

There were a lot of fantastic designs from people that would look great on shirts, but for the site logo these are the best thus far.
