Anybody ordered up the newest GEC #25 single bladed Little Jack yet??

Sorry these were quick iphone pics due to rain. If I missed any comparisons let me know and I'll do some more. The 25 is bigger and thicker all around. It still fits in my watch pocket fine.

The sheepsfoot blade and a #25 work great together for a small work knife. I've got 2 of them in 440c and got a grape jigged bone version for my sister who absolutely loves it.

Nice picture Sarah. The tube is a nice touch.

Thanks, ED, but it's not mine-- that setting and tube orientation are distinctively Mike Latham's. I greatly appreciate his taking the time to photograph each knife this way.

(I try to remember to post not-my-pictures within quotes, but forgot to do so this time. :o)

Well, now that I've seen the red tomato Pemberton, maybe I want that one instead...

Ya same here after seeing some side by side shots of these two knives the Ebony Pemberton is the one that I want. I like this 25 too but I just don't know how good it would fit in my coin pocket. Seems a little short and fat for me. :)

I've changed my mind I have to have one of these in ebony especially since that version was made on February 28th which is or was my sons 1st birthday. That pushed me over the edge and made me decide I have to get one. :)

Looks to me like the pemberton clip blade

is the same blade as on the 25 clip

I ordered the single blade Pemberton ebony, because I could not find a single clip bladed 25 ebony

The current sheepsfoot 25 looks stupid to me, dont know why… tastes vary.

The blade shapes are very similar, but the Pemberton's is slightly smaller, with more swoop to its clip:

(Not the best angle for illustrating blade differences, but hopefully this helps.)

The Pemberton does pack a lot of blade into its small frame.

It's very funny to me, how people like to take shots at the poor little bugger-- in its own thread! Buncha bullies. :p

Thanks! I don't know...as much as I like the idea of it, I just don't feel it.

I don't care for the stubby appearance or the high-rise blade when closed. Love the handle material though.

If it were more like a downsized #15 and with a spear point, I'd be into it.

Thanks! great comparison shot

Yes, that 25 sheep elicits a lot of hate, at least we don't go around whispering behind your back :-)

I agree, but, the particular spear version of the 25 also looks stupid to me <g>

otoh, I really like the 25 ebony clip.. I mean, if Im going to tell you what I don't like, I try to also compliment what I do like.. Try to stay positive :-)

Well, there is that. :p

I wonder what it is, though, about this one? There are a number of knives I don't care for, but even if I read threads dedicated to them I don't make a point of calling them "ugly" or "stupid," nor do others that I've seen. (Not singling you out-- you're not the only one!)

I guess this little knife just looks more teasable? Heh.

In this pattern, the spear point is my least favorite in use. That doesn't mean it isn't useful for most of the tasks that present themselves when I'm carrying it, just that its lines and ergonomics aren't as conducive to use as the others. On the other hand, I consider it one of my most beautiful knives, not just because of the extraordinary jigging and color but also the way the spear looks very unstupid within the overall profile, and am glad I have it. Plus, I really enjoy comparing and contrasting form, function and design decisions both within a given pattern and between different patterns, and am glad I have this spear blade #25 for that reason as well.

-- Thanks for the compliment on the ebony clip barlow. :-p

For me, it's a Best in Class among the #25s, certainly the top Tidioute.

Yeah, just too disproportionately broad. But I find many GEC pattern are a bit too stubby for my tastes.

The spear points on the #68 and #15 are perfect, and most perfect of the perfect are the spear point TC Barlows.

The 25, even in the two blade version with fat stag fit all my watch pockets perfectly. They dissapear and stay put! Plus they are chubby enough that a little push pops them out to use!

I like the new version, even more so with the barehead ebony.
