Anybody prefer canvas to G10?

I've had G-10, paper, linen, canvas.

I really like linen. I wish Busse used more linen. But canvas is what I tend to order.

(Stupid auto correct likes Linden more than linen). I've used and liked G10 in smaller knives, and black paper too. It feels great in hand, I've not used it on a large chopper.

I love canvas micarta. It just feels good, even in environmental extremes as some have mentioned. I really like the aesthetic of it too, in my mind black canvas micarta looks better than *most* all G10 colors. But that might just be me.

Counting folders, etc, I have a lot more g10 than micarta. So I like g10 fine, but all of my factory kin orders have been in canvas micarta for the reasons mentioned.

Would love to see more linen or multi-color micarta options from the shop in the future.

Like the 3-4 toned multi color g10 on small knives 5" blade under. The 2 toned g10 aint nothing speical to me.As others said micarta just feels better and old black mic looks better than any g10. My bwm's old mic looks fantastic. Don't know if it's because of the age, or because it's just different canvas, but blades I've got in o2w that have new black canvas just don't look as good.

I don't understand why they don't offer linen more often, it's about the same price as canvas and looks to be just as available in bulk. I know I would love to get a linen handled Busse. Would be awesome to get linen on some BATTLE GRADES!!!

Multi colored micarta is the sh!+.

Canvas or linen for sure. It absorbs sweat, water, oil and blood just enough to keep your handle from becoming slippery. G-10 looks amazing but I prefer performance over style.

Canvas just seems more organic to me; G10 more like plastic. And the canvas feels way better, IMO.

I definitely prefer micarta to G10. It's lighter and gripper to my hand under a wide range of enironmental conditions.

If you guys like the micarta for how grippy and organic it feels, you guys would love TeroTuf! I know Busse does not use it on any of their knives, but if they started making fusion handles with TeroTuf it would be epic. In regards to G10 vs mircata I also prefer micarta for the same reasons as mentioned above, but for smaller scales the slippery aspect of the G10 does not have as much effect, and it does look nice.

OK thanks for the input. I was wondering, if it's cheaper and I like it better, why the fuss for G-10?

I like G10 finished how it is in my folders which is very grippy. Not sure why they cannot do that on the big knives.

for a user I prefer canvas over g10..but just a little..the more g10 I have, the more I like it.

I absolutely 1000000% prefer canvas/linen/burlap/rag micarta over any G10, zytel, FRN, etc...it is my favorite material. I love the way it feels in my hands and the way it ages with time and use while being more than tough enough for any kind of knife uses...

Canvas, no. Linen, yes. G10 is just fine if you don't leave it too smooth/slick and it is nicer to look at than most canvas options. None beat Res-c for comfort in use though. ;)
For my user handle needs I choose first to last:
Res-c
Linen
G10
Canvas
Paper

Well its been said before. Canvas on anything you want to use and use a lot. Canvas grips better and I don't seem to get hot spots as quickly with it. G10 looks great and I got several knives in it. G10 is easier to keep clean in my opinion although canvas will clean up too just takes a bit more elbow grease. Durability from every test I have seen they are pretty close to equal. I have never been able to do any real damage to either one. I have noticed that G10 will take a scratch or two where canvas having the same scratch will blend and its harder to see. I would think the pattern in the material makes it that way. Combat knife would be canvas all the way, everyday carry or EDC to look nice in a nice place, G10 in my favorite color.

+1 For Canvas, not much is better than Black Canvas on Satin for me.
G10 does look great in few combos, especially with the texture/color pattern on the Fusion handles.

All this talk about canvas.
This thread needs some pics.
