Anybody use a JRE Sheath for their RC-4?

Has anybody used a JRE sheath or have a leather sheath they prefer? There's just something about leather that kydex will never replace.

i'm considering buying or making something similar to this.
 
I ordered one for my TAK, havent received it yet though. I should be finished this week. Its a deep-carry leather dangler sheath in brown.
 
The guys at JRE are doing a great job. I think you should go for it, the one in the pics looks awesome. Make sure to post pics when you get it!
 
I had Dan at JRE make a sheath for my TAK-1, and I love it. Top notch quality and workmanship. Have several JRE made leather sheaths that come with Scott Gossmans Blades too. Gotta love Leather.... fine blade deserves a fine leather sheath. :)
 
JRE make great sheathes, Dan is an awesome person,I am having one made for my D.Koster Survivor, Koster Bushcraft and SAK OHT ..... I think that is all for now !!!

Not too fancy, but I love it.
 
that looks fantastic, my problem is that I can't find a raw leather distributer where I am from. Great work on the sheath, you have much more pride carrying something you made yourself.

I just got in a shipment of RC-4 leather sheaths made by JRE to my specs. We have black & brown in right & left hand.

Here are a couple of pics.
 
I'm really tempted to buy a leather sheath for my RC-4 (which has yet to even arrive), nothing beats that classic look.
 
Hey Dale, just wondering, does the Rat firesteel fit in those sheaths? Or does it dig into the sheath body?
 
Very good question! I was planning on trying one to see how it works but have been busy & hadn't got to it yet. It rubs on the edge of the sheath but not excessively. It fits quite well & holds firmly.

The end of the rod is flush with the end of the loop. It would have to be moved the full length of the rod to come out... Certainly possible but not likely as it fits pretty tightly.

If I were to carry one that way, I would fasten some kind of keeper to one of the MOLLE holes on the sheath and the lanyard hole on the firesteel cap.
