Anyone anticipating a non-LE SAR-4?

I'd like a sar4, but it'll definitely be a user so I don't know that the extra scratch for an le makes sense. So who thinks they'll come out with a non-le SAR4?

I hope they do. I really hope that this is a longer run. It is an all around great looking size and shape.

I wish they would do a Comp version, with the decarb layer buffed off really quick. I don't care about pretty, but the Convex edge really makes them easy to sharpen.

I hand convex all mine anyway, but it is such a pain in the but to do it.

I hope there will be a satin CG, with full convex, and otherwise just like the LE. A coated CG would be fine, too. I just hope this SAR4 doesn't go the way of the Sarsquatch and become very limited. The design is more than good enough to be popular for a long time. :)

This would be a good one to duplicate the GW in style choices. I hope they're plentiful.

IIRC, Jerry posted that there a no coated versions in the current plan.
Now that doesn't mean no CGs... but even double cut is close to the costs of the LE.

I'm sure there is a premium on the LE just for being an LE.
But I can't see these for any less than $327 if there are no coated CGs to be had. :(

Don't get me wrong... I would love to see a $250 version of some kind.

I think the size, shape, and look of the sar4 will appeal to a much wider audience than the saraquatch. I think this has particularly more appeal as a user especially because of the more utilitarian size. (I'm much more likely to carry this on a regular basis than say a cg ash1 or fbm)

The satins tend to be expensive when it comes to Busses, yeah. I don't really mind the price - I would just prefer the design to be around a little longer than a couple of minutes at the store. ;) It's a great design (even with that choil) and I think there would be quite a lot of demand for it - so it would be a shame if it were to become a very limited run. The knife could be very popular, so I hope it won't be that limited. It's of very practical size and not that thick, either - I could see it becoming more popular than the ASH for example.

I would also like A. another chance B. Lower cost versions C. wouldn't mind a non-LE satin, and no i don't think it would have to cost $400...but busse makes fine knives in high demand. They can pretty well charge what they please...nobody is putting a gun to our heads...not exactly. D. If no non-le satin, i'd settle for double-cut and any handle or no handle at all. I can cord wrap or slap a couple slabs on. Bring em on!

Maybe the CG will be non-NM'd and satin or DC. Perhaps flat ground as well.

I still want that black G10 handle I saw. Man it looks purdy.

I think a satin with green linen would look killer cool!

mmmmmmmmm... satin & green linen. :D

I would love to see a CG too of some kind but I think I am gonna get one now cuz who knows whats next on the menue from Busse and this may never be offered in any other config. I doubt they'd tell us until the LE's are sold out as many people would hold off on these if they KNEW a CG of some kind were coming soon.

Yeah we need a less expensive CG version! LE is way too pricey for me especially in today's economy.

My thoughts are that if the SAR5 can still be found at Knob Creek then there's hope for a CG or other version of the SAR4. I'm sure I saw a few NMFBMs to and weren't they on limited release when they came out.

Sure it may take a while but I wouldn't rule it out. I'm still hoping for a hazard yellow and black pattern SAR blade. Having seen the new camo stuff from Knob then hope still springs.

I think Jerry said there would be none offered with a coating.

I would think we could see more Satin combo's down the road.

Say Farewell To The NMFBM!!!!!! . . . .
How's that for big news?????. . . . .

You have less than 10 days to get one. . . . and then. . . the "Nuclear Meltdown Fusion Battle Mistress" is gone forever!!!!!!!!

And remember. . . . 3, 5, and 7 are all less than 10!!!!!!

Good luck to those who still want one and congrats to those who scored!!!!!

Jerry said there would be no more NMFBMs and there have been so all i'm saying is i'm keeping my fingers crossed. When you're operating under the blood alcohol level Jerry is sometimes things change.

Regardless this is a great looking blade so i'm looking forward to the first few reviews for comparisons. Will it out perform the SAR5? That's the big question for me.

My thoughts exactly. I was still dithering about getting, but I just scored a HH on the Exchange :cool::D, so that seals it, no SAR4 for me. I still get to play F5 tonite, as I have to score one for Jimmyjones.
