I am about to order from Pioneer Knife and tool. Has anyone done business with them? Good or bad.

Thanks

I have ordered from them a couple of times before and never had a problem.

A friend of mine ordered from them and the order took a long time to come and he couldn't get a hold of them for a few days. If you are trying to contact them, it usually takes them a few days for them to answer emails. You are better off just giving them a call. Their customer service is good, just not very fast.

That is my experience at least. I'd order from them again.

Is this a Josh company? If so you'll probably regret it sooner or later.

thread rewported.

PVK would seem to be hit and miss at best.

Pay via credit card backed funds. That way if something goes amiss, you have some comeback.

I bought quite a few knives from them, and found them friiendly, reliable, and reasonable. They repaired several knives that I wore out (bennchmade mel pardue) opening/closing in my pocket as a habit.

I would do business with them again with no hesitation.

I have never had a problem either and I have ordered several knives over the years with them. keepem sharp

I have bought all of my autos from Josh (except my Severtech) and I have had ALL smooth transactions, I would, and will do business with him again.

We have a forum called "FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!". In the future you should post such questions in this forum. You regulars should have known that as well.

Moving.

I've been reading bladeforums for a while but am posting for the first time so let me start by saying hi to everyone!

Last Monday I ordered a few items from PVK. Got an automatic order confirmation in email at once and my card was charged approx. 1 hour after making the purchase. I inquired in email about the status of my order on Thursday, got a reply on Friday, the package arrived today (Tuesday). The contents matched my order.

Considering that I live in Hungary (Europe) I call this extremely fast service. I understand from the forums that others have had issues when dealing with Josh Burbank, but my own personal experience is positive so far.

Thank you for reading,
Bye,
Akos

Akos,
Welcome to Bladeforums. You may now consider yourself an active participant. I, too, have had good dealings with Josh. In fact, a good part of my collection is from him. Aside from a couple of slight delays, I'd say he is safe to buy from. -DT

While I have never had one single problem with the 30 or so orders I placed with Josh over the years some here have. My understanding is that those that did have problems with Josh also had a difficult time getting them resolved.

I used to run to Josh's defense by letting folks know that he's a one man show but I do not any longer. There are many retailers about his size that have no problem getting orders filled and shipped on time and they do so by paying someone a wage to keep things moving. They also try to keep their website up to date, so there's no excuse for Josh other than he's cheap!!!!

Josh is making enough money to hire someone part time help to handle and ship orders, and keep E-mails current. He could hire someone to do this from their home and until he does something threads like this will be a regular event here in GB&U.

His e-mail responses are slow but his service (delivery) is good. And he knows how to ship to EU.

That is rather hit or miss. His delivery time can be good, or it can suck. I have known a few people that have paid for upgraded shipping and a couple of weeks later the knife hadn't even been shipped out yet. That kind of thing happens quite a lot with Josh. He seems to get to things when he has the time.

By the way, is anyone else finding that they can't get on to the PVK or Knifezilla websites. The PVK main page comes up, but when I click on any of the photos, all I get is an error message about the server not being available. This has been going on for over a week and I am wondering if it's a problem from my end.

I was just on PVK; looked at a Piranha Model #2 Blue that would look mighty good in my blue jeans pocket (color-coordination and all, don'tchaknow ;) ).
all da best,
rats...
p.s. Keith, apparently it's a problem with your "end." Might want to see a doctor about that. :D
