Anyone carry those 1$ Lock backs from WalMart?

I've been carrying one for work, every weekday, for about the last month, and man, its every bit as solid as many 20-30$ knives of similar design. 1$ even, in the the camping section. I'm gonna pick up a couple more lol. For a beater, you can do a whole lot worse lol

I have seen vids of that $1 knife posted before and that makes me wonder what 20-30$ knives you found that were as bad as that knife. Even the least expensive Kershaw or Spyderco would blow that walmart knife out of the water.

Photo ? How does it look?

what is seen... cannot be unseen bro. its pure garbage

to the OP, you were better off buying a stanley or similar utility/box cutter knife in the hardware section :)

I had one of those...it literally fell to pieces in my hand when I was cutting the tape on a package open with it. Dangerous, stay away...I guess it might be safe if all you do is slice air with your knife.

I've bought a bunch of them to use to test sharpening methods.
the would be nice to have when somene wants to borrow a knife, and you don't really know them

I bought one to use for sharpening practice, the serrations were almost able to cut paper, the PE part was rounded like a plastic butter knife, it had horrible play both vertical and horizontal and could be closed like a slip joint, I used it to pry something (can't remember what) but nothing that difficult and the whole thing broke in half at the pivot/plastic handle.

I had the same sort of experience.
Picked one up a few years ago just to see how well a $1 knife could hold up.
It was as well made, sharpened, and structurally sound as any $1 knife that's come before it, I'll give it that! ;)

A few ounces of pressure on the pivot and the thing just shattered.
I get it, I get it...you get what you pay for.
But, c'mon, these things aren't just poorly made, they're dangerous as well.

Absolutely not.
If I ever did, It would be to go baton it through seasoned oak sideways to see how many hits until it broke.
To carry it?
You couldn't pay me enough.

I fully agree, I picked up one and used it for some rough work out at the farm. Its hard to beat.

anyone got a picture of one? don't have walmart over the drink so I don't really have any idea what your getting for that $1..

I've had really cheap knives int he apst, from £1 stores and they were terrible. I could bend the blades with my bare handswith no fear of getting cut..

but I've seen better ones for a simular price that people buy just to leave in tool boxes/fishing bags etc.

That really would be all they are good for. I wouldn't depend on one or carry one. Just for things you wouldn't mind ruining a knife for. Mine seems solid enough, but go figure.

I can't figure out how to post pictures on this forum. Its different than others.

Save your dollar and put it in a piggy bank... There wasn't ever a time that I'd buy a knife like that. :thumbdn:

I picked one up years ago just because, and then about the third time i opened it, it literally fell apart in my hands.

I ALMOST bought one a few years ago ...

... because the packaging back then said, "ULTIMATE FOLDING KNIFE" real big right on the front!

With the $1 price on it, I thought it worth $1 for shear entertainment value.

In the end, I couldn't bring myself to buy it.:p
