Anyone carrying a long-discontinued knife?

+1 Spyderco Endura3. I found two NIB extras on The Exchange, one ATS-55 and one VG-10.

C95 Manix still gets pocket time.

BG42 Sebenza, orange G10 Tyrade...both in the EDC rotation. Of course, I have a NIB Tyrade as well...

Im sure there are more, but those are what come to mind first.

I have a C95 Manix too, and I really, really want to carry it...but it is new, and I just cant get myself to do it.

USA Schrades, the original Gerber Harsey Air Ranger, Gerber EZ-out ATS 34, 1st gen Endura, used to EDC a USMC Kabar in the woods until I broke it (yes I broke a Kabar).

My carry for this week has been a Buck Strider 880SP. Also carry a Benchmade 640 Mini spike, Kershaw JYD II SG2, probably some others if I think about it.

Here's my EDC rotation. Three of them are discontinued. That doesn't count all the Camillus, Schrade and Belknap slip joints I occasionally carry to the office or when I'm working in schools and can't carry a big locking folder. Given that their makers are all defunct, all of those knives are discontinued.

I have a Kershaw Starky Ridge ( G10 version) that I carry once a week or so.

I actually really adore this knife , IMO it is the perfect blade configuration for me.
Belly , fine point and thin blade for great slicing. I'm toying with the idea of getting it converted into a Ti framelock.

Tostig

Often carry this chisel grind attention getter. Makes a good kitchen paring knife too;)

I've carried my Buck 422 "Bucklite" on one or two ocasions it's not worth much but I realy dig it for some reason I paid 15 bucks for it at a pawn shop.

First post. Have been reading till my eyes crossed. I love this place.

My EDC for every day since 11-25-96 has been a Benchmade 401S Panther. Weehawk blade, half serrated. This one has "Bali-Song" not "Benchmade" in the banner on the butterfly logo on the blade. I have been unable to find any info about this knife, try as I might.

Yes, every single day, unless I'm in the woods. Do NOT want to lose it. It has great sentimental value to me for reasons that I don't think belong in this thread. No big secret, just off-topic.

How do I know the date? I still have the original box/papers/plastic bag for the knife inside the box, and the receipt that shows I walked out the door with it for $35.99 on November 25, 1996.

Thnaks for a great site.

I have the PE version of that same knife bought at about the same time. It was what I consider my first real 'tactical' knife, and I carried it for quite a while before moving on to newer things. I bought an identical one for my wife to carry in her purse, though I doubt either of us could find it today.

Welcome to BladeForums!

I don't own a knife I won't EDC, most of my traditional folders aren't made and haven't been made in 50 -75 years and even my Spydies, BMs, SOGs, up to and includin' my one of a kind customs all see some EDC what's the point of havin' a knife ya won't carry.

Besides I tried it, it can't be done, ya can't put a knife away and not wanna carry it.:)

I'm with you. I don't own a knife that I wouldn't carry. There are some that I carry for defensive reasons only and will not thrash on. Nonetheless, no dust collectors for me.

Though not long discontinued, I carry my ZT0500 MUDD, Lone Wolf Longhorn, and a Bradley Mayhem bali.
