Anyone dislike S30V?

I have a bunch of CPM-S30V, courtesy of Benchmade, and I don't have anything bad to say about it other than they're not S90V steel, because we're all very spoiled these days. Most of my S35VN is from Cold Steel and Buck, so I'm not very worried about their steel treatment either.

The four S35VN from Chinese knife makers I have are from WE, Civivi, Pivot, and Kizer. They're good knives too, but are built for light EDC use because of their size and designs. I'm not going to use my Kizer Gemini quite the same way as my American Lawman or Benchmade Griptilian. Similarly, I'm not about to use my Benchmade Proper the same way as my Zero Tolerance ZT 0308 tank knife either.

It's a great steel. My first in S30V was a BM Mini-Rukus (#160 of 1,000, first production run), and my most recent is a Buck Slim Pro. I habe knives in S35Vn, S110v, and tool steels like 3V and M4, but S30V remains a standard.

No, I like s30v but I have better steel at my disposal so I use others. My current favorite is M4. I’d use s30v over 154cm or VG-10, but not before 20cv/m390/204p… definitely not before M4…. and never over s90v. Since I have those, s30v is mostly a beater steel for DIY projects around house.
