Anyone do anything fun yesterday?

What did you guys get to do yesterday? Anything fun? I got to cuss about starting my own business and being self employed.

I received a shipment of over 6,000 firesteels that had, well, not the most effective packaging I have ever seen. I cringed when I picked up two of the three 60 lb boxes, not just from the weight, but from the tinkling noises I heard inside. You see, thousands of firesteels are not supposed to make tinkling noises until after I remove them from their packaging. Every single bundle of 14 different sizes of the rods were busted open, save one, and, of course, that was the only one that was in a box by itself.

So, I got to spend several hours yesterday sorting the rods into their appropriate bins. My hands were stained black from the protective coating and I am pretty sure the nice jeans I was wearing are now work jeans.

The good news in all this is that I have seven new sizes of firesteels, filling in some gaps between the sizes where I thought additional sizes would help. This brings me to a total of 16 different sizes, with a few more on the way in the coming months.

A couple of shipments ago, I decided to name all of the sizes after animals. I had a couple insects in there and some other random critters, but now they are all named after North American mammals. Hopefully a cheetah or leopard did not sneak in there to showcase my ignorance of wildlife.

I wooed a wonderful woman. :D

Seriously? That's pretty cool, you got me beat. Although I guess I do already have a wonderful woman, so I can't complain too much.

Drop me a line about the firesteels if you need some.

Alright, now all you need to do is supply the WS&S regulars with one and we are all happy :D

Just kidding. Do you know if it was the fault of the mail or who shipped them to you?

A little of A, a little of B. The shipments usually make it to me mostly intact, but these boxes were twice as heavy as normal and each bundle was only wrapped in a couple of layers of thn plastic. Normally they put the larger bundles in cardboard, so I have no idea why they did not this time. Add to that that the bottom of the pictured box was soaking wet, had obviously broken open, was crushed, and was messily taped back together, and it is hard to assign blame.

Lets see....

I worked all day that wasn't fun.

But when I got home it was still light. That was fun!

Then I went into my garden and pulled the plastic up over my lettuce bed to drain all the water off the plastic. The spinach and lettuce was looking good.

Then I walked across the hollow and down to where my shiitake logs are since it rained but I didn't see any big enough to harvest popping out.

Then me and BiGdoG walked back up thru the hayfield, and up to my spring. I could hear the water really running in the spring box because of all the rain we had had so I opened the cleanout valve so the big rush of water will wash out the silt from the spring box. I'll turn that off so the water goes back down the road to the buck pen watering tank this evening.

Then I walked back down the field and spent a long time using a stick to scratch my buck Filibuster. I was wearing my used barn clothes and he could smell the does on me and was really happy:

Then I walked toward the barn and whittled a few sticks in two with a knife I've been working on and headed to the barn. There I petted and fed Pete my other Great Pyrenees, and then milked Emily and two others

After that I went down to the house and it was time for bed.

I wrote about your knife actually, also stepped on a bee (4th time, opened up an awesome package from El Salvador, became a moderator, watched a buckshot wilderness DVD and fed on a pound of rice, an eggroll, and an Amber Bock.

Went to work, came home, bought groceries, cleaned up camping gear from last week's outing, got some, made dinner, ate dinner, played video games.

Pretty good day :)

Me and sweet-thing argued before I left for work, had issues with steam control on #2 machine that took most of my work day, left work almost on time, then it all changed:good beer, good snacks, good friends, and caught good cards.
Not a bad day!

Bag of class A and some Viagra and off to the woods. Got some wicked pics but I'll stick a couple of the ho hum ones in the photos section now.

I had a great time celebrating my 31th birthday with my friends yesterday. We had some fun ...and a few beers also

It was a great day for me. We're traveling in Europe on business and had the opportunity to see some of Buckingham Palace in London!

After the tour, some snacks, and chit chat we got to have our pictures taken but things got all out of hand. It seems the tour guide, Beth, and my wife were really getting along. After a couple of pictures they were patting each other on the back and because of protocol touching is frowned upon. Who would've thought?
