Guys and gals, we are glad to se how excited you are for the new product releases. Us here at KAI USA are really excited as well - and working like mad to make sure that everything is ready for SHOT show.

I just want to encourage you all to take a deep breath and relax - we really appreciate your efforts to make sure these knives stay un-released until this coming Tuesday, but let's not attack each other either.

You've seen quite a few of the new Kershaws, but the new ZT's will be really cool as well. I think a few wishes will be granted with this release. You should be happy to know that we've really focused on making these knives both as cool as possible AND as manufacturable as possible. In addition, we've worked to keep the price points reasonable - I'm really looking forward to getting these out there.
You guys (and gals) do a great job, don't let anybody tell ya' different!

To whoever asked why Thomas isn't around anymore, this is why.

It's called the internet. It's a place where people tend to say exactly what's on their minds. It's been that way since forever, and it's not changing for anybody. Thomas left because he wanted to, and not for any other reason.

Every single major manufacturer gets ripped up and down all over these forums for whatever perceived shortcomings they have. Kershaw needs to adapt, already. You can't even read the Kershaw forums anymore without these constant tantrums.

I understand where you're coming from, but don't you think that it would get a little annoying to be constantly ripped on about the product that you're trying really hard to produce? I know that It's the Internet, and people will do what they want, but put yourself in Thomas' shoes and everyone else at KAI. They're trying extremely hard to be the best that they can, and it doesn't help when people are breathing down your back and pointing out every mistake that you do. Nobody's perfect. The reason why Thomas left is because of people constantly complaining. I know that Thomas chose to remove himself from this forum, but I don't blame him. I think that any person in their right mind would do the same thing. KAI doesn't have to produce knives for our enjoyment. If people don't like what's being produced by KAI, then stay away from them. Just because you don't like something about a knife, doesn't mean you have to come and b**** about it. Sometimes it would be a lot better if people just kept their mouths shut and went on about their day. You don't always have to go rip on somebody and make their day any worse then it probably was.

I don't see this thread going well. I already found a store offering pre-orders for the three mentioned ZT's  :thumbdn:.

I feel like we just locked a thread because of this. Please don't share info on the new ZT's against Thomas' wishes, regardless of the fact that he is not a member of this forum anymore. There are some new ones, they are sweet, and KAI will release info at SHOT. That's all there is to know at the moment.

This. Come on people, this is embarrassing me.

How in the world do you pre-order a knife where theres no specs. or anything other than its a knife from (insert brand here)???

I dont get it.

Tuesday isn't far off everyone just chill. I don't understand why whenever something cool is on the horizon everyone gets at each other's throats. It only makes all of us look bad in the end.

While I would normally agree with you, I think things work a little differently here.

This is the only forum I know of that has a "You were all new here once' thread. This is also the only forum that I know of where 10 newbs can come in and post the same thread in one day and not get ripped to threads.

I honestly have had to restrain myself on this website and regardless of whether or not I think that is a good thing. The fact of the matter is this is the ONLY website I know of where I can interact directly with manufacturers and I think that fact ALONE should lend people to being a little more polite and patient...

Yes, I can. I've been there in my own work environment. Producing and the stress that comes with it is huge.

That said, it's not an individual burden. A company works together to produce for it's consumers.

Your'e right. They do work hard. As does any company striving to produce an excellent product. Every major company experiences the breathing down the neck, the constant complaints, incessant "why didn't you do it this way", etc.

However, KAI and Thomas are not the only people that have chosen to meet the internet consumer hordes, head on. Others have, as well.

There is a difference, however, between those that have and stay, and those that have and left. Thomas chose to take offense and to entertain antagonists. He chose it time and time, again. I've watched it. You cannot win internet arguments, no matter how many "followers" you may feel you have. Thomas found that he can not control the masses, and so he left. It's not the first time, either.

Ah, but here is where you are so very wrong. KAI does have to produce knives for our enjoyment, else they will disappear as so many cutlery companies, before them. It's actually for the best that people do keep their criticisms loud and audible, as that's what keeps the industry improving.

See, they need our complaints even more than our praise. It's what keeps us buying. Gang mentality, however, is what will kill a good company.

while were on the topic, what ever happened with the zt 0777? I've been drooling over that magnificent beauty ever since i laid eyes on it back in early 2012.

What I was trying to get at with "KAI doesn't need to produce knives for us", is that they could have never been created and then there would be no KAI at all. There wouldn't be any Kershaw, Zero Tolerance, or Shun. Then all of this criticism would be avoided, and you and I wouldn't be voicing our opinion.

Again, I agree with most everything that you said, but when people start to criticize KAI, they don't have to do it like this "this knife is complete crap, and i will never buy another knife from kai again. i don't understand why anybody would want to buy something like this." Don't you think it would be a lot nicer for KAI to produce a better product then they already do if the criticism was constructive? Now I know that every part of criticism that KAI receives isn't going to be all fine and dandy. There are going to be people that criticize EVERYTHING that someone does. Whether everyone likes a product from a company, there will always be that one person that will hate/doesn't like it. That doesn't mean they have to go on and constantly rant about that product. I'm sure someone from that company has already seen the rant/complaint that person posted. I'm sure that company will try their best to address that issue. I'm just trying to say that some people need to try and keep their mouth shut, and if they really feel like they need to stand up and say something, then do it constructively. For example, and this is something I don't like about the Skyline "Dear Kershaw, if you ever decide to release another Skyline, would you take into consideration to make the pocket-clip ride a little deeper in the tip-up position." That's all I'm trying to say, people need to realize that ranting isn't going to get you very far. If you constructively criticize a company about something they make like I just did, then you'll probably hear a response that you like a lot better.

People also need to ask themselves this "Is this really worth complaining?". I think if people did that, then it would save a lot of people a lot of trouble. Sometimes you have to just deal with something. You may not like it, but that's just how the cookie crumbles. I would prefer to carry my Skyline tip-up, but I don't because in my opinion, to much of the knife is sticking out. I just tell myself to deal with it, and move onto other things.

I am very excited about the new ZT's coming out, I forgot what dealer posted part #'s but Im going to be aiming to grab at least of one the new models and of the 2013 LE's that will be out im very excited for the 0560CFCB, I cant stop thinking out its curves and lines and that carbon fiber, I get chills. I'd like to get the 0600 too but I fear my balls my end up in a jar on the fridge if they both are released too close to eachother.
