Anyone else fed up with the ghosting?

This seems to be a more common occurrence in recent years. Back and forth communication on sealing a knife sale/trade, and just as the deal is set to be finalized, absolutely nothing. They go silent and ghost you, no responses. Obviously not much we can do about it, but a simple courtesy to say they've changed their mind would be appreciated. I'm wondering if this is happening to others, not just here but across all different sites and forums.

This happens to me frequently on social media. Numerous people have ghosted me on the same fly rod I have for sale. "Is this still available?" "Yes" ....no response. I had set up a day to meet with someone, and he never responded with a time and place.

Yes, a simple "no thanks" works.
We're a community here, not greedy retailers.
Have some cordiality.

^ I've come up with a new nickname for these type of inconsiderate people: "Tboner's"

I was interested in buying a knife recently, but I noticed it had already been taken.

Instead of posting an, "I'll take 2nd's," I just moved on. As it turned out, I contacted the seller the next day (this was 2 weeks ago), asking what happened to the 1st taker, & this was his reply:

"That guy is a thread killer. I lost an entire Friday night of potential buyers to that dumbass. He never responded to any emails requesting payment for the knife. Thankfully I sold it to another buyer. Please put him on blast."

T-boner's habits, of $hitting all over people's sales thread's, instead of taking the time to learn forum etiquette (learning how to send a visitor message, or buy a basic membership), only to disappear & cease communication, has continued.

I have to agree with the OP, this type of behavior is getting worse here. Personally, I just put these type people on my ignore list, & be done with them. And if somebody on my ignore list ever posts in one of my sales thread's (it has happened). I ignore them. The ignore feature, is my favorite feature/tool, on this forum.:thumbsup:

FWIW: I've never experienced this type of problem over the green forum. The cove is run and moderated very well; they also don't allow any stupid, senseless trolling, or needless crapping in a sales thread.

I have had this happen a few times over on the JD.

This has happened to me as well, but it never really bothered me.
As long as someone doesn't owe me money/product

I've only had 2 or 3 people "ghost" me here and it was low post count new members who clearly joined just to buy.

If this community displeases you enough to complain about it, while others do not, feel free to stay at those other places.

I’ve had two members disappear after asking me to hold the knife until they got paid. I decided not to put knives on hold anymore.
One guy wanted to buy with a money order, and I asked him to send it with tracking so that I could better plan the shipping date. I never heard from him again.
I don’t get flustered by any of it, just make a new strategy, and learn from the experience.

Hey remember the last time you said this and slammed all the members here and then stated you were gone forever because how badly run the place was and if anyone ever saw you hear again you'd pay them a couple hundred bucks.

And then do you remember how you were back about 2 days later? Pay me.

Or just leave forever if it's that bad here. I"m reasonable.

I also would like to receive my Benjamins Franklin.

I just sell it to the next guy with good communication. Many of us have busy lives and it's often not intentional.

It's on the list of $hit that doesn't matter to me. It's a piece of cake to sell a knife around here.

The real question is, why are you inserting yourself into, and posting about, someone else's trade deal that you aren't involved in? If I were that guy, ghoster or ghostee, I'd have told you to mind your business. You are slandering someone who you had no contact with, and as no money changed hands, no deal was struck soooo...why are you here? Why are you posting this? Mind your business, man. Damn.

If you like USN so much, why not go back there? We'd all really appreciate that.

Fck you coolhand68! Is your nickname coolhand because you gotta let your hand cool off from all the masturbating you do? Maybe you should be more concerned about getting some real pussy and not what the fck I’m up to!

Wow!

By the way, it looks like it was KELAMA KELAMA who called you out; not coolhand68 coolhand68 .

It was me! He deserved to be called out here. Anyone on this forum, who makes a commitment in a sales thread to buy something, then goes MIA & leaves a seller hanging in the manner he did, violated one of BF's rules, if I remember correctly?

FWIW: I reported his actions to the Mod's (flaking), & I was kind of hoping they'd address his actions for this type of behavior. I just know that I'll never be dealing with, Tboner.

Thanks for the head's up, Cory, otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to see his post.
