I find that I am really getting tired of black g-10 knives. That used to be all I bought. Now I find myself drawn to different colors and woods.

Not me. I LOVE my black G-10 REKAT folders! I wouldn't have 'em in anyother color. If I want colored objects, I'll buy a package of balloons.

I am tired of black too. Although I like G-10, I'd like to see more of it in blue, olive drab, dark green. Some production companies offer carbon fibre and thermoplastic handles in different colours, but why not G-10?

I started out looking for a tactical that wouldn't scare people and ended up with the multi-colored Kershaw Boa. Now I try to find versions of the knives I want that come in something other than plain black. I have both a REKAT Sifu and an Emerson Commander with green scales. My Spyderco Delica and Ladybug are both blue. I have an amazing collection of knives in various combinations of woods, colored metals, carbon fiber, and colored G-10.

In fact, the only knives I currently own in plain black are my Spyderco Military and Spyderco Jot Singh Khalsa. At some point I'm hoping to get Frank Recupero to work his magic on my Military.

Still like black, but also find myself choosing natural materials for most of my knives now. I can't say that I am tired of black, I just want other finishes as well.

Still pretty fond of the black G-10 and carbon fiber, however I do find myself looking more and more at non-coated blades.

I like black, not only regarding knives but also for things such as clothes, furniture or electric appliances. Black accentuates all other colors because of his contrast properties. IMHO black is the ideal supplementation to steel.

glockman, here's an idea: balloons as colored knife-condoms! prevents accidental spills of bodily fluids as well!
peace.

Black is good.I want more black. Black 940, black 710Al, black military, black native, black Lum tanto... Hmmmm. Come to think of it, you're right Dennis. It's Green I need, and lots of it. Green is good.

Hi Dennis:

My first love was tactical folders with black G-10. But hanging around BF has increased my aesthetic range (and decreased the size of my wallet!) The Custom forum opened my eyes to both 1) fixed blades, and 2) dressier, less tactical looks. In fact, I'm currently saving for a Trace Rinaldi TTKK with maroon (Micarta? or G-10?) and fancy mosiac pins.

Still, my EDC is my Benchmade Axis 710.

I'm not tired of black g-10, however, I would like to see knives being offered if possible, other colors. I LOVE my REKAT SIFU limited edition red handle and a friend has a green handle...I know if they brought out a blue handled version I'd want that to.
I heard a rumor that they made very few SIFU's with white handles (tuxedo edition). Why limit the possibilites????

Heck yes!

With the variety of colors available, as well as other materials, it's always seemed to me that black G-10 was such an obvious, "same as everyone else" choice for a handle scale. I'm glad that there are more choices available now than there was a couple of years ago. I don't carry the black knives nearly as often any more.

I've never been fond of black knives. That's odd as over 50% of my clothes are black. I just don't like that "battle blade" look. I'm not a ninja or special ops, and never plan to be. I just use knives to cut stuff in everyday use.

I prefer more natural finishes, like bone or wood. They provide plenty of grip for me when well designed.

Also, I've never liked heavily textured, flat slabs of G-10, like on my Military. It's functional as all getup, but not big in the aesthetics category.
