Tactical Knives Magazine September Issue, page 32 for more on knives with color.

We also LIKE BLACK, but it's not our focus.

Knives are fun and that's what we're trying to bring out now.

Barnaby,
I just read this article the other day. Congrats on your accomplishments so far. I really like the fact that you are going in so many different directions with your product line. This is good for your customers.

Also, good job to Dexter Ewing. Another great article.

PS-The Black Micarta handled Jay Maines utility knife sure looks good to me.
Even if it is a "black handled knife".

Never was into that many black knives. Had a hard time choosing a color this morning so I picked this one

I actually don't have all that many knives with black handles...actually I don't have any as yet but I guess I will when my BM710 w/ Alum. Scales arrives. (I think its black.) I tend to prefer metal handles as opposed to the black composite or plastic. Benchmade has some nice color options. I really like the green and some of the striped handles on the BM730 look good as well.

I'm open to colors other than black but I want them to be muted and subtle..not bright. That banner ad that shows all the different colored handles for example that is here on Blade Forum. I'm not interested in most of those colors no matter what the knife. My only exception to my bright color rule is my SAK.

If you want color ! check out the folders by Fred Carter from Gigand knives. They are superlite and and very well made.

What can I say. I really love it.

shootist: what a beaut! must be a little tough to sharpen, though (in case you ever wanted to...

I am a BIT tired of black...

Give me grey titanium, grey aluminum, put some grey G-10 in there... Perhaps some greyish wood for the handle... highly polished blades are ok, but a grey wood handle with a stonewash blade would tickle me pink.

Hi Dennis
TX :D
the idea was mine but i`m way from being skilled enougt to do such work, a friend of me did it. I had to give him some money for the time he was investing but not as much as i thought he earned - so i owe him one. TX to Björn!
Polishing was a lot of handwork, he said, the Olivewood he brought from Italy.

I like other colors and materials, but black G-10 can have a good look and feel - like my Benchmade 705.

Dennis.
About the only situation I still like black is G-10.
All REKATS, some Spydercos (Standard, Navigator, Wegner) I own are G-10. I like the grip, look, and the scratch resistance. Especially in the above-mentioned utility applications.

I don't like black blades, regardless of the (coating). They all scratch and the result is especially ugly.

Give me my stone washed G-10 Carnivore and a weekend in the woods, and you'll witness a happy camper.
Later, Bill
