Anyone else love stockmans?

Nice! I still have a few of the new grind stags tucked away. Some had seriously nice scales, but I've got an 18 with butt-ugly second cut that's a weird grey/brown/blue color, like it went deep into the stag. Bought that one sight-unseen back in the 80s when phone orders were still a thing.

Here are photos I dug up from a 53032 I sold 20-something years ago with some UGLY second cut stag on one side.

There was a time when, to me, "pocket knife" meant a stockman pattern and nothing else -- although I don't think I even knew that it was called that. I've since expanded my appreciation of knives greatly. :p I do have several stockmans in my "collection," my latest acquisition being this 1988 6347 HP SSP Case, which I bought about a year ago. Currently I'm more likely to carry a medium to small single or two bladed pattern, though.

Ace, to me your Case 6347 has all the right visual elements I would like to see in today's Case Knives. The chestnut colored jigged bone, large silver shield, as-ground blade finish, and a clean tang stamp - with the new, nostalgic looking tang stamps, if they would return to the shield your knife has and use as-ground blade finish the new ones would be perfect. Very nice Case you have. OH

Here are a few synthetic handled oldies.
