Anyone else not care if they come out with a folder?

I mean we're tough customers.:thumbup::eek:
We pound, hack, stab, chop, drive, throw, baton, twist and kick our Busse blades into and through almost everything imagineable. It would be very hard to hold the great Busse warranty on a folder with customers like us. The blade of a INFI folder may hold up to everything we throw at it but what about all the other failure points.
I've worked on industrial equipment all my life and it takes proper care, cleaning, and maintenance to make something last under continuous usage.
I'd be fine if they stuck to fixed blades.:thumbup:Just my thoughts, I hope they bring one out for you guys who have been waiting.

I don't really care.. I like fixed blades better. And there's so many other amazing makers in that market.

All I want to know is what can Busse offer me that other High End makers can't when pertaining to a folder.

Busse has certainly proved themselves in the fixed blade industry but the market for folders is a whole different animal..

Regardless it would be interesting to see what Busse can come up with. I'll tell you right now the Patent designs floating aground is clearly not going to cut it. I don't find those designs impressive to say the least. I just think Jerry is messing with us..

Four letters...

INFI.

How's that? :D

One word...

INFI.

How's that? :D

Jaxx, your right on that aspect

but............

Firstly,I find that infi is not well suited for blades of that size. It can surly hold its own but really it is not better than other high end steel used in folders.
I am only making this claim due to my first hand experiences with tiny INFI blades.. I have broke a few.. Thus is the reason why I sold off all my tiny INFI and now the smallest blade I own is a Satin Jack.

Still, Busse may have something up their sleeve. I am sure they realize this and are going to take appropriate precaution in modifying this steel to set it apart from the masses.

Only time will tell , fair enough ? :)

I'd like to see one made available, if not for any other reason than the novelty of it. However, if it's too expensive, I'd probably have to pass, as I prefer fixed blade knives over folders.

I would like to see one, but also agree that INFI's primary strength is in fixed blades. As others have said too, there's more to making a folder than getting the blade right. And there are a few guys out there who are very good at those other parts.

Still, I think a Busse folder could claim a spot among the greats.

I currently carry 2 folders, one is just under 3/8" thick, the other is less than 1/4" thick. I don't plan on carrying one any thicker.

So I may snag one for a novelty, but not for serious carry, unless of course it's thin.

Somehow, I can't envision Jerry making a slim folder

I have felt one with out seeing it & it is awesome, ask Bravado or Skunk :D

Personally, I'm not interested in a Busse folder. Actually, I hope they don't make one, because it would probably leave them less time to make real knives - that is to say fixed blades. :D

Yeah, I've seen some of those pics of yours. :D I'm wondering, though - would you not say that small INFI blades were harder to break than similarly sized blades made of things like S30V, VG10, ZDP-189 and other high end folder steels?

no folder????......BLASPHEMY!!!!...i want one.i like INFI for all sized blades.

i have faith that if jerry did a folder he would come correct and blow our minds with something incredible and totally out of left field.he's never let us down before,he blows our mind every time and keeps us guessing.

he would come correct or not at all.the steel would be amazing, the lock-up would be amazing and all the moving parts would be amazing.he would find a way to offer something that no one else has yet.he would find a way to make it unique.

and just because busse makes great fixed blade doesnt mean they cant do a folder once.

i would understand if they stopped making fixed blades to only make folders but there would be plenty more fixed blades in the future, not to mention all that we already have.so one foray into the "folder world" would be great imo.

and think,if he just makes the damn thing and gets it over with everyone will shut up and we'll never have to hear about FOLDERS again.

i have faith in you jerry.

I'm not really into folders so I don't care.

Would I buy one if they came out with one? Probably.

I'm to the point of not caring. Jerry knows we all want a folder and for reasons only known to him...he has chosen not to deliver. As UJ said...only time will tell.
