Anyone else not care if they come out with a folder?

I've gotten so used to carrying a small fixed blade EDC, that I don't care about a folder anymore. The only folder I seem to need these days is an SAK or a multitool.

Busse, will do a Folder! First they have to complete a separate repair shop for all the busted folders that will be arriving. There's the hold-up!! :)

Jaxx, your right on that aspect

but............

Firstly,I find that infi is not well suited for blades of that size. It can surly hold its own but really it is not better than other high end steel used in folders.
I am only making this claim due to my first hand experiences with tiny INFI blades.. I have broke a few.. Thus is the reason why I sold off all my tiny INFI and now the smallest blade I own is a Satin Jack.

Still, Busse may have something up their sleeve. I am sure they realize this and are going to take appropriate precaution in modifying this steel to set it apart from the masses.

Only time will tell , fair enough ? :)

Well, it looks like you are back to liking small Busse knives as you just bought a AD off of the exchange!

I'd love one but I don't think I can stand a $2000 folder...

Really !!

This folder stuff was going on in '02 when I joined. In '03 or '04 I traded for a Lg Classic Sebenza, let Tom Mayo do his magic (One of the last he did), got a tip down belt pouch from MtMike and it has been on my belt every day since, except for hospital visits.:D

It was and still is the only folder I own. Works as advertised and I can't see the need for another, especially since there is a Busse or Swamp Rat either on my belt also or, close at hand.

My guess is that a BUsse folder would be well out of my price range, so I doubt I'd ever own one. I'd like to see one none the less.

I'd rather see the Bussmuk, Minimuk and/or the Baby SAR. A folder is just an almost broken knife, no matter what it's made of.:D

If I knew for sure, I'd wait... but not knowing I ordered a Strider SMF-CC yesterday, which is about as close to what I envisioned a Busse folder being as I could come.

Do I care? Nah, there's plenty of other stuff in life to care about. Would I buy a folder if Jerry decided to make one?- you betcha. But I'm more than satisfied with the stuff he's already putting out. Besides, the Bear Cub looks like it may be the perfect EDC- in the right sheath, it won't be much bigger than a lot of folders out there.

If you really wanted to, you could have a custom maker mod a Bear Cub into a folder blade without too much trouble.

I like folders above all knives and would love to see Busse make one.
Just use Titanium slabs instead of Micarta !
As far as beating up a folder, why would you want to do that ? :thumbdn:
That's not what they're made for !
Isn't that what Battle Mistresses are for ? :)

Really !! ...

Rob

With what I've seen of these smaller thinner INFI blades I would love to own a Busse folder just not pay for one. The ADs, BADs, GWs and LrMrs take a hell of an edge and come back to shaving sharp with less effort that a lot of modern knife steels. D2, S30V, ZDP189... man! if you let those get too dull you have some work on your hands, usually, to get the edge back but I've found INFI is just stupid easy to maintain. If the folder talks to me when Jerry brings it out I probably won't be able to resist so I'll just wait and see.

That was an interesting one. I never saw a coated blade AD that was .15.

I have come around to thinking the .17 flat grind AD as the best grind. Stronger tip, stronger all around and maybe even better geometry than the saber .15. The BADs are nice too if you are not goint to use the tip hard. The only problem with the .17 flat grind is that I think all -so far- are customs.
