In my opinion these have the potential to blow away most budget tactical folders on the market right now. I already have the CQC-3K preordered and I may also grab a CQC-5K. Anyone else excited?

Im mostly interested in the ZT emerson, but may grab one of the Kershaws.....

I am looking forward to it, and have a 5k and 6k preordered. But, to be blunt.... what is taking so long?

I guess as a consumer, i hate seeing things announced, and up for pre-order for months, then hear nothing. At this rate, they should have just waited till the Blade Show this year (assuming it won't take additional months after then to launch). As it is, the longer the wait goes, the more i second guess my order (at leas the 5k, which i was on the fence with)...

It will take... As long as it takes. I realize you are new here (newbie), but most folks are understanding and know not chomp at the bit for things announced at SHOT show. There are a lot of things that I won't get into in this post, but read about production schedules and factory floor time, you may understand more then. There is ALWAYS a wait time associated with items, from all manufacturers, regardless of what company is presenting. Also, the SHOT show isn't necessarily for public consumption, rather it is for manufacturers to show their retailers what is next on the production horizon. Only recently has the public taken an interest in this show in particular. Some people always get their boxers in a wad at some point though.

Hopefully there are plans to offer different ZT models, for those of us that appreciate something other than tantos. I guess I could just buy an Emerson.

That's not a comment about the quality. Just not sure I like the designs that much. Kershaw is a great company and I like Emerson too, but for some reason I am not that excited about them. I probably will pick up one of the frame-locks though.

Why is that? When has Kershaw failed us recently?

i feel the same way. Actually I've read a lot about how great it will be marrying Emerson's designs with Kai's QC tolerances should result in fantastic knives. If the ZT had a CQC-8 style blade I would've pre-ordered right away. But for the first run I'll be fine getting the CQC-6k

Between the Kershaw and ZT Emerson designs you have cheap and good enough Emersons (Kershaw) and better materials and arguably better craftsmanship along with a totally hassle free warranty (ZT). What's not to love?

Yeah I'm definitely getting the CQC-6K :D I love Kershaw and ZT and it is great to see them collaborating with Emerson

I didn't want to get into this aspect, but I wish a few of the Kershaw designs were US made. Nothing against the quality, just like to buy American when I can.

I'll probably pick up the CQC-3K for when I can only carry a sub 3" blade, but what I'm really excited about is the ZT/Emerson collaboration.

Yup, got a 2K on preorder. I usually don't like recurves, but I like the size and shape of the 2K.

I can't stand 8Cr14MoV, and would have much preferred these were made in USA with Sandvik steel or something similar. I would be all over these collaborations if they were made with a better steel and were drop-points or clip-points instead of Tantos.

Better video.

I'm quite excited about these. I think they'll be great users and beater. They'll also be great gift knives and show people the wave feature.
