anyone get the new ruger 10-22 pistol?

Here is a review from Gunblast. Personally, I would prefer a nice revolver since I don't think that thing will carry well in a holster. ;)

it looks super cool! i wish that could be my first .22 but there not allowed in Connecticut which stinks

What ? .22's are not allowed? Handguns generally not allowed? .22 Handguns specifically not allowed??

Please elaborate !!

Mr. Lahey might have a problem but Ricky just sticks it in his shirt. :D

One neat thing is you could use the high capacity magazines for it.

Bad thing is it looks like it tries to do too many things. It would be unweildy used as a pistol and doesn't give you the accuracy of a rifle.

I'd rather have a 8 or 9 shot revolver.

It looks neat, but my MKII Govt with the 7.5" bull barrel works well for me. I also have a 10/22 with a Tactical Solutions Flutted bull barrel and a Hogue OD overmolded stock with a 3x9 on it. I have Tactical Innovations 25 rounders but prefer the good old 10 rounder for range work.

It looks like it would be a pita to should free hand.

i would think with the right ammo it would shoot just as good as any rifle. my standard model mkI shoots pretty well at long range so i would think the charger would do just as good. i wonder why toledo is the only place in ohio where you cant own one?

gun laws make absolutely no sense. and personally i'd rather have my ruger mk2 bull barrel. it shoots like a dang rifle and carries easy. just my .02

didn't have one mounted. Assuming a light pistol scope, shouldn't be too bad. I would definitely handle one first before buying.

It is a real tack driver. I love mine. I have mine MKIII? in stainless. One of the first new guns I bought in 20 years. Bought it because I thought so highly of the MK1 standard barrel that I owned. This one shoots incredibly.

Im not sure if it applies to this firearm but in California a pistol with a magazine that is not in the grip is or was illegal. I am not sure if this is still the case but it might be why it is illegal in other places.

Handgun laws in CT are more restrictive than some places, but not as bad as others. From what I've read, you have to take something like the NRA pistol course and fill out a permit application with the local police or town hall to buy and own a handgun. Then you can apply for a carrying permit if you want. I don't know why that 10/22 version would be banned here when weapons of far greater lethality are not.

The only handgun I own I got when I lived in Michigan, so I haven't done the process in CT yet.

Ie handled a couple. As rat said, they are lighter then you expect. Would be easy for me to shoot freehand. Seems very well made, and a neat idea. I love .22, its about all I shoot now that ammo is so expensive for my other toys.

That is a neat idea. I pretty much don't need one, but might get one anyway. :D Who says needs have to make it into every equation? :D
