Anyone gotten you Anorexics yet?

Jerry!! You sound like you need to finally try some XXXX. Solves all problems. Makes me a bit ratty though!!.:D :D :D

Hey I have an Idea, why don't we make a club called Jerry's kidds, which will be comprised of all of us. Any member of this club will get a numbered edition sent to him if wants it. Since I am the founder of the club I will put my name down on the list as first, and then everyone can chime in. If you are not one of Jerrys kids you do not get a numbered blade until all of jerrys kids have gotten one if they want it. As a jerrys kids member you must buy one numbered knife a year or you are out of the club. Once you have bought ten numbered knives, the eleventh is free. :p

1. Cobalt

PS. Quit your bitchin about numbers, because that's all they are is numbers.

hmmmmm. . . . sounds a lot like like CBL:eek: ;)

i think all busse knives should ne marked with either #1 or prototype.

this would be very fair to all and the resale value would climb very high and stay there.

if everybody ordered two then they could possibly have #1 PLUS the PROTOTYPE!

omg... how would you decide which one would be your user:confused:

Jerry: As near as I can tell, there are only two chronic bitchers about the serial numbers. Statistically, in a group of three or four hundred people, that is probably to be expected. In fact, probably way above average. I am really sorry to finally unload, but one of these can be counted upon, that if you see his name on a post here or elsewhere it is going to be a gripe of some sort. The whole world is obviously out to get him and screw him in some way.

I just got through helping a 22 year old to the bathroom because she can't walk, putting cornstarch in her morning juice to thicken it because thin liquids go straight down her windpipe, and feeding her sveral foul tasting medicines. She rolled out of bed in the middle of the night and severely bit her tongue, and it is swollen this morning. And she doesn't have an ounce of self-pity or do even a fraction of the complaining I have heard over numbers on a knife.

You have twice now offered full refunds, and DN has offered a perfectly good explaination of possible time delays in the internet.
You are not going to satisfy them or make them happy.

Eric Isaacson,

I knew the the 8:36:07 PM was earlier than the purchase. I'd actually gotten two emails to buy the knife..., one earlier evening, when Earthlink.net took the knife email, which I'd put it in Outbox, and which mailed early, for some reason (and which I'd gotten an Busse auto-response earlier than my first email, and then a second auto-response, within a few minutes than my second email for the knife.

I'm not going to cry about things..., and I'm not going to "talk" to people who "love" Busse, talk to people who "love" Hood, or others who "love" New York City  , or others (sorry about me using some words..., my stroke removed many, many of my words (and speaking)).

But it looked pretty odd that I put my email within 1 minute of buying the knife, and my email was in Earthlink, in DSL, and my knife ended up in the 288. Earlier, I've asked why Busse's internet business said 4-6 weeks for a knife, when many of knives got 8 weeks, or 14 weeks..., or money goes to Busse when the knife goes to mail, instead 4 weeks before knife mail, or 8 weeks, or more.

Production knives usually goes easier, and knives get to me with 2 days to 2 weeks (well, Canadian Grohmann knives with Water Buffalo Horn knives with carbon steel went up to 6 weeks ;)

But that's fine..., I'll just wait 'til early June Blade Show, when I can see (and buy) Busse knives the same day.

Agreed, a number is a number.

And agreed, "order in which received" is the fairest way I can think of to assign numbers.

And as I recall, Jerry even added a twist, so that if someone ordered 100 knives, they didn't get numbers 1-100.

I was just surprised since I sat with "my finger on the trigger" for 30+ minutes. I wouldn't have guessed there were that many that beat me to it.

I wonder if my relay (smtp.mac.com) "sat" on my e-mail before giving it to mail.bussecombat.com? Or perhaps Jerry's mailer only checks for new mail ever 15 minutes, and renumbers them at that time, or...

I will say I'm a little miffed about being a labeled a "newbie", "first-time buyer", or "chronic whiner" for raising these concerns.

If there's no problem, then fine. If there is a problem, lets address it so it doesn't happen again.

Mike

If someone doesn't want their ABLE, drop me a line. I could only afford a DAB at the time and can only afford a DAB now, but I am willing to dig. It is just too beautiful! Don't care about the number, I want to use the sucka!

Cheers,
BJB :D

Well MY DAB will be #1. How can I tell? Easy. Since the knife will be 'sterile' and engraved with an invisible type of laser engraving that can only be viewed with special glasses that only I possess, my #1 will be safe from prying eyes. (along with the engraved map to the next nuclear drop site)

Boy, you guys with the visible numbers gotta get with the new technology. It's like going from UV to 4th Gen NightVision.:p :p

I regret my earlier post. Sometimes you should just keep your thoughts to yourself and this was one of those times I should have and didn't.

May I be the first to thank Jerry for that system! My new ABLE #2 is actually my first Busse! (in my hands anyway) The ergos were my first "purchase", but aren't here yet.

I have no connections or any way to improve my odds for a low serial number, and if there was any way of rigging the serial numbers, I would NOT have gotten #2.

This system is not "fair",(I didn't deserve #2) but neither is life. Kind of like a game of chance with some work involved. I much prefer that to some sort of lottery. Jerry has the right to give the low numbers straight to his best customers and friends, so he has no need to "rig" a system to get his way

Frodo

PS Jerry promised me #2 in the next serial numbered Busse for saying this...:p

Damn fella's I just want mine to arrive!! I am leaving Monday for a camping trip and I just know the minute I pull out the drive the UPS man will pull in with my ABLE. :grumpy: the only good thing about this is I will have something to help aleviate the after vacation blues. ;)

Greymoor, he who waits . . .
