Anyone Have A Busse they Don't Want?

Kimberly is the only person I know of who gets INFI and other knives for free, and sometimes even sheaths.

Came home from 2011 Blade Show with a Ralph mid-tech, some pure junk, and everything in between.

Since my birthday is very close to the usual Blade dates, I get some of her spillover occasionally, such as an Al Mar Native and a Blade-Tech Mouse.

Yes, but she is a unique and uniquely wonderful person.

The rest of us?

Not so much.

You could always take my approach- marry someone with a bunch of knives, and slowly commandeer the ones you like...

I've actually thought about that.

Sadly, the spouse I've already got tells me that's an awful idea.

And she's armed!

LOL! Imagine if the title was Anyone Have A Busse That They Want?
I think it might crash the server.

AWESOME question!:D Honestly I don’t have any I’m willing to part with because I’m greedy which I’ve accepted, I’m like Smeagol with “the precious”. I do however know of a CGFBM gathering dust on a shelf in my ex-girlfriends closet.
I’m about 0-10 in the win/loss category in trying to retrieve it. This side of calling in SWAT or using a blowgun with a tranquilizing dart (just kidding)(well maybe)(ok kidding) all attempts have been unsuccessful. I even tried saying it with flowers, worst move I ever made!
If you can find a way to retrieve it then it’s all yours! I would try and warn you if you attempt this, but aren’t 5’1” angry surprises just the best?:D Anyway just throwing that out there, I don’t know if it’s “technically” free but the best I can do on such short notice!
I would accept this challenge if i knew that she was close enuf for an attempt. ;) Just gotta go out on enuf dates to get invited back to the closet... :D
Have you not learned anything in your time here yet? The way to get a free knife is to tell a tearful story of how you lost your very precious knife that you cannot live without and now you cannot afford to replace it. I have seen that angle work.

I am not saying all those stories have that as the intent, I am sure most are absolutely true and very sincere (I lost my daughter's knife when we were backpacking), and some very good and sincere people face such misfortunes and post about it just to share and vent without any expectations, but I speculate that there is the odd post that has some expectations attached.

One poster in another place cried that he lost a Sebenza in a trade (or deal, I can't remember) and had the gall to ask forum members for donations to buy a new one, despite the fact that he is constantly buying Sebenzas. It did not work for him but you can give that angle a try.

You can also criticize a brand, without appearing like a troll, and you might get a free knife to prove your criticisms unfounded.

But I am being too cynical, your angle might still work.

It takes all sorts I guess...

P.S. If any of you find a lost Loveless (small Benchmade Griptilian) somewhere on the Mineral King trail, please return it to me, or just send me any other valuable knife that you have so I can restore my daughters faith in me.

It is somewhere in this vicinity:

That looks like the puddle Dave and Cody were drinking from in that one episode, I bet one of them found it ;)

BTW I have a sob story and no-one's giving ANYTHING away these days, good luck!

It's been done many times over, there is only a hand full of HOGS that remember and understand what the meaning of Hogdom means left on this forum and you are not one. You will never understand as will most that post here ever understand.

The last time I mentioned a knife that I would like to have but couldn't afford a HOG gave me one because he could, when I was able I use to give Busse's away to people out of the blue too. When you guys understand what goes around comes around you might start to understand.

Will, it's a full size Cobra with a Bobtail in Stainless with ambi, I could put it in my will if it will work for you. LMK

True words of Hogdom, Head.

Ya know what knife I really like, but can't afford? ...That Chuckette custom. Man, I really wish...

Too soon? ;););)
:D

I'm no Hog, just a little piglet trying to get by the best I know how but this "experiment" evokes some serious thoughts.

Asking for a free knife... could/would never dream of it. :barf: There is something to be said for getting something you want after you have saved up for it. :D

Winning a free knife if it is offered by Jerry in a contest... I'm game and even came close once. :o Good times, no regrets and congratulations to the winners!

Giving away nice blades/gear to others when I can actually afford to do so... you bet! :p

In fact, after giving away nine Busses, one Rat, and two Dogs I have learned a few very valuable life lessons in my short time around the Busse family. I sure can't afford to do it now though and I am not bragging here, just recalling the memory attached to each one as I went over them in my head. I don't miss the blades like I thought I would since I know they went to good homes or people who may never have owned one otherwise and I was certainly not hurt in anyway by it. Money lost can be replaced, but people you care about sure can't. So keeping in mind that money can't buy happiness, then putting a huge smile on the face of a friend or relative that receives one of these amazing blades you spent the money on is priceless.

Learning to appreciate life for the short time we are given, being free and spending time with others who have good hearts should far outweigh our selfish desires for more stuff. Teaching those kinds of morals/ideals/values and the ability to think independently to our kids/friends/family starting in the home is paramount to the success of this nation's future, as that is how it became so great in the first place. But if all we do is ride on our (or another's) coattails we won't get very far.

That said, I know it took a lot of nerve to ask yet I would just feel wrong giving a blade to the OP in the manner requested, but good luck.

Oh, and I wouldn't eat my own for any reason, let alone an inanimate object. :thumbdn: Those types usually find themselves shunned around here in fairly short order from what I have seen.

Well...................if I were rich, I would give away a lot of stuff including Busse knives. I think that is one reason I am not rich, because I think that way. The people I have known that were rich............... they have all had one thing in common. I will leave it there. :)

I almost had a knife given to me by Ethan Becker at Blade.......it is was a BK9 Tan unsharpened and RC tested throughout the blade. I gave him my "Lucky Penny" I carried in Iraq.....but seeing as how I was blown up while carrying it, it didn't bring me much luck....maybe it has brought him more fortune than myself.

Very well said, Tim.

Chuck--nicely put, my friend. I'm not surprised you'd reply seriously to my ridiculous post. If you go before I do, that day is going to be sad enough as it is--I won't be worrying about trying to add to my arsenal. Thanks, though--and same here, if I ever have anything you need.

I understand all about generosity and the true meaning of HOGdom even though I have never been able to be a participant either way. I am not saying that the OP (or anyone else here for that matter) doesn't deserve, you just need a better reason than "just 'cuz" when there are others out there more deserving (key word being MORE) and I am not saying it's me either, it's not up to anyone but the HOG. I don't see generous HOGs gifting knives to those who they feel deserve it as "giving them away" (especially not for free). It is a (very) generous GIFT. There is something special about those gift blades and being a true HOG. To receive one would be a great honor. To pass it on to another deserving HOG or piglet or noob would be even an even greater honor.

+1
I end up feeling guilty about anything I have had that I haven't earned or didn't deserve or was just plain extraneous or selfish... I can't keep anything that makes me feel that way so, I do my best to not accept/acquire anything that falls into this category.. I am all about FREE stuff and it's nice to receive gifts but not if it's going to compromise how I feel about myself..

there is no such aircraft called a G6. Those "musicians" are simply idiots in addition to being talentless.

Wow... This thread got all serious, huh? Lots of good points, but pretty sure the OP was just displaying a bit of humor... Of course I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time, and far from the last! ;))

...Speaking of being wrong... Guess I'm one of those "idiots", LOL... What do I know? I'm only familiar with A6, B6, C6, D6.and E6...back in coach class! :D

Actually with just a little research it was easy to find that "G6" is slang for the Gulfstream G650. It is an aircraft. Post less, read more?

They saw that people were talking about the Gulfstream V, and decided to "one up" them because 6 is a bigger number. Of course I had never heard of them or their "song" until I saw a news article with a statement from Gulfstream saying the plane does not exist. And the G-V is no longer in production.

I would only consider your intelligence/taste to be lacking if you bought the album.

Ha! ...Hell no! :D I only know about the song from a CSI Miami episode I caught...just stuck it in my post for gits & shiggles. ;) Gotta love free youtube, LOL.
