Anyone have this E&E Pouch?

JW,

Thanks!

R6,

You always have great gear, I look forward to hearing your review on it should you snag one.

Try the Blackhawk BDU Pocket Pack...I got one in today that I bought brand new from a guy on eBay for $13.55 shipped and it is sweet:thumbup:...I think they're usually about $17 plus shipping...They're about the size you're looking for and well worth the money...

I think it's kind of odd that we all wish more companies would make items for our type of activity, but when they do, we recommend buying cheaper, or
complain about the price.
If we don't support at least some of the companies, and buy their products, soon there won't be any making things for us.
Thanks, Terry

I don't think that I have ever had a piece of nylon gear that I didn't end up burning some trailing thread on. Just an unraveled stitch, zip-zip-zip, burn it up and smash it and you're good to go. I've owned a lot of different gear over the years going back to Eagle in the 80s, etc.

One of the best pieces of nylon gear I ever purchased was a Bianchi Gunrunner "fanny pack." I still have the thing and it's about 18-20 years old, easily. Very few "burn, melt and smash" on that thing! It's also an awesome survival kit bag for hikes, etc. Carries a lot of stuff...in fact, it is a favorite for that reason.

I'm sitting here and trying to think about all of the nylon stuff I have had over the years and I keep coming up with just minor stuff on the name-brand stuff but the discount shit I have purchased from places like Sunny's Surplus, before they went out of business, and stuff like that? Atrocious! I have owned real ALICE packs and aftermarket ALICE packs and without question, the aftermarkets always needed tweaked but some of the stuff I have heard about Cheaper Than Dirt - they're just not worth my time. A lot of the stuff is single stitched and when you turn stuff inside-out, it looks like fresh hell.

If you want an old Mauser Bayonet, E-Tool or cheaper ammunition, I think they are valuable, but as far as the gear they are having made, I'd pass on that. I don't need my stuff coming apart, literally, at the seams.

My Wife has a Maxpedition Versipac and she throws that thing all over the damned place. I do the same with mine, I throw it across to the passenger seat when I get in the car, I chunk it in the trunk sometimes, they hold up well.

Bianchi, Maxpedition, Boker+, Eagle, CountyComm (really good too!), Dana Design, and SpecOps Brand - I have not had a problem with any of these manufacturers. The cheap crap always ends up being cheap crap though.

I have one of these that I built my E&E kit on while in Afghanistan. I will try to get some pictures of it up. I had a SAK farmer, Small IR strobe, Silk Evasion Map, IR US flag, Sig Mirror, IR Chem-lite, Purth SAS survival kit in the tin, Small water filter, and other items packed in it.

It worked out awesome. I would say go for it.

I look forward to seeing it. I'm also glad you didn't have to die for my freedom. 8-)

Other than the Cheaper than Dirt ones the others seem nice but really steep for such a small pouch.

Check this out, I sat down the other day and thought about this and wrote it down for an article and then I was going to delete it because it didn't fit. But it will work for this particular time...

When you see what you get for $40.00 at the grocery store, you should be concerned. It’s not much at all anymore really. Just as an exercise, let’s take a look at some items that I purchased in the last few weeks of 2008 at the grocery store, not a convenience store where prices are usually higher.

Let’s just look at a very quick trip to the grocery store for a family of three to eat for three days including school and work lunches and three dinners and all three dinners utilize leftovers from the same crockpot-cooked chicken breasts. I have rounded up the amounts by five cents.

One gallon of 2% milk $4.00
One gallon of orange juice $5.00
Four cans of regular Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup $5.60
One 2-liter bottle of name brand soft drink $1.70
One pound of the cheapest domestic lunchmeat ham $8.00
One-quarter pound of the cheapest Swiss cheese $2.00
One loaf of bread $1.50
One large pack of boneless/skinless chicken breasts, three halved breasts $21.00
One can of each, corn, peas and green beans (on sale) $3.90
Two boxes of name brand breakfast cereal (on sale) $4.50
Two packs of name brand instant rice dishes $3.60
Two boxes of name brand instant stuffing mix $4.50
One container of ready-made, (microwave ready) mashed potatoes $3.50

Sixty-nine dollars and thirty cents, $69.30 and I don’t want to be graphic or turn your stomach and make you feel sick, but all of this will be gone in just a few days. It will be expelled and that’s it, it’s gone.

I use to be in 7th SFG...I'm up here working with I Corps. Might get a chance to get out to TT today or tomorrow...it's been a busy schedule and the weather is starting to turn crappy!

The really sick part is, if you take out all of the name brand stuff like Sprite, Campbell's, Stove Top and the rest of the stuff and just use store brands...which in many cases do NOT taste as good, you're really only going to knock off about $8.00 - $10.00 off of that list.

I'm not telling people to go without food for gear, well, you can if you're single! But you shouldn't make the kid(s) and Wife suffer, you know what I mean? To me, Del Monte green beans taste like total shit, so, I like Green Giant brand vegetables, we all have our little quirks. Del Monte isn't really any cheaper than Green Giant and the store brands are basically real survival training because if you can eat any of that shit and enjoy it... :D

The point is, you eat stuff and it's gone. You buy some of this gear and it will outlive you if you take care of it. A lot of the stuff we talk about in this forum, you can hand it down to your kids when you croak, most of the rest of the stuff we buy wears out, electronics, cars, etc., or we simply flush it down the turlet. :D

I was just wondering! Did you ever go through Kelly Worden's Program H2H/Knife/Stick/Everything?

I have one of the TT E&E's on the way.
Will let everyone know when it gets here.
Thanks, Terry

It came in Wednesday, and I must say that initially, I am very impressed.
Very well constructed, roomier than it appears, and comfortable as hell.
Packed it up, and still have room, which means, I get to buy more gear!!
Will try to do a more thorough review over time, but, since the home computer crashed, and I'm doing the cyber-cafe thing, pics are not possible at this time.
It is a great piece of gear, though, and I would recommend it to anyone.
Thanks, Terry
