Other than the Cheaper than Dirt ones the others seem nice but really steep for such a small pouch.
Check this out, I sat down the other day and thought about this and wrote it down for an article and then I was going to delete it because it didn't fit. But it will work for this particular time...
When you see what you get for $40.00 at the grocery store, you should be concerned. Its not much at all anymore really. Just as an exercise, lets take a look at some items that I purchased in the last few weeks of 2008 at the grocery store, not a convenience store where prices are usually higher.
Lets just look at a very quick trip to the grocery store for a family of three to eat for three days including school and work lunches and three dinners and all three dinners utilize leftovers from the same crockpot-cooked chicken breasts. I have rounded up the amounts by five cents.
One gallon of 2% milk $4.00
One gallon of orange juice $5.00
Four cans of regular Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup $5.60
One 2-liter bottle of name brand soft drink $1.70
One pound of the cheapest domestic lunchmeat ham $8.00
One-quarter pound of the cheapest Swiss cheese $2.00
One loaf of bread $1.50
One large pack of boneless/skinless chicken breasts, three halved breasts $21.00
One can of each, corn, peas and green beans (on sale) $3.90
Two boxes of name brand breakfast cereal (on sale) $4.50
Two packs of name brand instant rice dishes $3.60
Two boxes of name brand instant stuffing mix $4.50
One container of ready-made, (microwave ready) mashed potatoes $3.50
Sixty-nine dollars and thirty cents, $69.30 and I dont want to be graphic or turn your stomach and make you feel sick, but all of this will be gone in just a few days. It will be expelled and thats it, its gone.
