  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Anyone Read Any Good Books Lately?

So, you've read all those already?

Same Kind of Different As Me
The Fault in Our Stars
any Ayn Rand
Inferno - Dan Brown

I did not know they had a movie! Was it any good?

It's actually pretty good, kind of picks different parts of the book and melds them together into a single story, I've watched it before I read the book, then read both the books, then watched it again, twice. Definately worth a watch ( it's on Netflix streaming)

Picked up a great second hand and quite old book by Frank Yerby called "The Garfield Honour" - It's a Western with a focus on knives rather than guns.

YES!! If you like it now, just wait until the end. Thanks for lending that one to me as well, my dear Pokey. I loved it. Pokey, is like my own little library. Perhaps she'll let me borrow This Book is Full of Spiders ;)

Of course you can borrow it!!! My library is your library :D

My favourite American writer is Steinbeck..... I always imagine that he's my Californian grandpa telling me a story!

I've only ever read Grapes of Wrath and Of Mice and Men, but I do like the way that Steinbeck writes. I never thought of it before, but he does kind of tell stories the way a grandfather would.

I can understand why she took away your "library card", I'm big on having my books look pristine. I hate when people "dog ear" pages or roll the spine on paper back books. It drives me insane, its definitely one of my biggest pet peeves.

Lol THANK YOU! Library card revoked! She still has "Gone Girl Gone" and she claims she hasn't doggied. . . We will see :D
