Anyone scared of that knife that cut them?

What does it dyno at?

 I got a knife and a samurai shark knife sharpener. Sharpened the knife and got it and made it scary sharp:eek: Needless to say, it was so sharp it cut me without me even knowing it. To make a long story short,I spent part of christmas morning at the e.r.:D

I got a new Izula recently and when I was finishing up the para cord and pulling the final knot tight it came out of the sheath and cut my left index finger right in the second joint. Had a Dr. friend around the corner put 3 stitches in my finger to stop the bleeding all the surgery was done in his garage on top of the trash can. :D

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain(and the knife)

When I was 15 or so, I accidentally stabbed myself in the face with my Camilus USMC Fighting Knife...

... apparently stupidity mixes poorly with combat knives - who knew.

Anyway, I've probably used that knife more than any other in the decades I've owned it. Weirdly, my son has the Ka-Bar next gen USMC fighting knife and it recently bit a friend to whom he loaned it (got to hold it right if you want to make a bow out of a sapling, man).

I think USMC fighting knives just like to bite people.

sometimes, my knives and i play a little rough. they don't hold it against me, if they get dropped. i don't hold it against them, if i get cut. plus - always remember Blade Kisses are the only real way a knife has to show affection to it's owner :)

Got clumsy with my Fiddleback Recluse, haven't gone near it in since... that thing is almost too sharp. I've been using knives with guards instead lately, so I don't repeat what happened. Hah! I'm a wuss.

A couple of days ago I sliced my finger pretty bad with one of my favorite knives, it's still sitting on my desk, and still one of my favorites.

the first day i got my cold steel pocket bushman it bit me,got a little bit cocky and thought i had i good grip on the knife when i was closing it.i didnt, hand slipped off the handle and on to the blade, almost had to get stitches, that bastard resides in storage for the time being

I feel left out... I don't cut myself. *knock on wood*

If I did cut myself, I wouldn't be scared of the knife, that just doesn't make sense to me. It didn't cut me, I was being careless and not paying attention and I cut me...

How do you all cut yourselves, and so often it seems? It's been years since I had a bad cut. *knock on wood*

Ummm...let's see.
A CRKT Mirage did major damage to my right index finger and totally changed the way I'm able to use that entire arm now. As my surgeon said, "It's not a finger injury, it's an arm injury because it will affect the way the entire arm works from here on out". He was right.
It's gone.

A Muela recurved bowie slipped out of the Lansky sharpener, fell and stuck in my right foot. I had to reach down and pull it out of my foot.
It's gone.

One of my own Bowies got grabbed by the buffer, slung around and missed cutting my femoral artery by mere millimeters. I have a nice hooked shape scar as a reminder. It also missed lopping off Mr. Happy and The Ball Brothers by a couple of inches as it was whipped around by the buffer.
It's still here.

Sooo, it's kind of a mixed bag. Some stay and others go. All in all, I've been cut by my sharp pointys so many times it's hard to remember all but the truly memorable ones. I should say, I've accidentally cut myself using my sharp pointys. It's the operator, not the tool that's at fault.
I probably should have collected stamps instead...

I've still got a healing cut a bit over an inch long from a cheap Chinese beater folding knife. I'm scared of it in that I won't be using it again. The thin liner lock failed while I was using it and that's how I got cut...can't trust it anymore.

I've cut myself enough times that it doesn't fluster me much unless it's a good one. A couple months back a fairly heavy, nicely convexed marble in 52100 fell, flipping in the air, landing with a "scrunch" noise in my leg. It burned a bit but no big deal.

If a knife bites me 3 times I take it as a sign and pass it on. Love nips are just part of the whole darksider splitting atoms thing though.

Now I was recently fxxxxd up by a lid of a dog food can. It was so much worse than a nice sharp knife, took longer to heal, did more damage , and everything. That was a 4 stitcher on my right hand ring finger that scraped the flesh back exposing the bone. Usually I fix myself but that was out of my league.

You are right! knives dont cut people. Only careless people cut themselves with knives. Im not scared by the knife that cut me, just scared to get infected and the blood. Whenever I saw a movie or any video that when someone cut some throat, then bloods flows.. that is the scariest.
