Anyone try a Tilley T3 or Tarp Hat for hiking?

I've had my T3 for over 20 years and it keeps getting better every time I wash it. One thing I love about it that no one seems to mention is the closed cell foam in the top of the crown. That little feature has softened many, many thumps to my noggin over the years.

I've used a T3 for about 10 years. It holds up great and if it starts to get grungy just throw it in the wash and let it air dry.

Here in AZ it is very handy in the summer and the straps makes sure it won't fly off in the wind.

For those that own or have owned both a hemp and canvas Tilley, is the hemp cooler than the canvas? One thing I don't like about my canvas T3 is how hot it can get.

I have a very similar question. How does the hemp compare to the normal Tilley's? How do they compare as far as wear and tear, weight, water repelent, comfort? I am thinking about getting the hemp Tilley but I am trying to decide between that and a T3. Thanks
