Anything 'better' out there than a Delica?

Yes!!

TWO Delicas are better than one;)

I hear talk of many people carrying two (one SE and one PE).

Personally, the Salt 1 is the only suggestion I have seen for something that might actually be better depending on your needs. I have a couple Salts (Pacific and Salt 1) that I have beat on particularly hard and I have not understood how pinned construction is a detriment. I think lots of people like screws so they can "take their knives apart for cleaning" but most people do not actually take them apart, and of the few that do...very few will repeat the process if they succeed in getting it back together. Either way, the Salts do not need to be taken apart to clean...you just blast them with water, WD-40, bleach, or whatever you like for cleaning.

I have done some stupid stuff with my Pacific and the pivot still does not need any "adjustment".

For the price, I dont think the delica can be beat. Good quality and function for the price. Personally, I like a little more in my knife, but from a pure workers perspective it gets :thumbup:

For about the same price one could argue that the BM 556 is equal or better. The axis lock puts it over the top. Lockup is definitely better on the BM. 154CM vs. Vg-10 is a wash, vg-10 may have a slight edge. Both use FRN like handles. The BM is a USA made knife which matters to some.

5.56... you're right, I agree. I love my G-10 FFG Delica, but a Griptillian offers as much utility and the axis lock is sweet indeed. Nice to have both to choose from!

Here is another one you might want to check out!

Kershaw OD-1 Flipper 2-15/16" Satin Plain Blade, Orange G10 Handles
Part Number: KS1775OR
Manufacturer: KERSHAW
Retail Price:$79.95
You Pay: $49.95 You Save: $30.00 (38%)

Shift those “gotta have it” genes into overdrive with the OD-1 (one). This sleek pocket performer from Kershaw is truly a machine and comes fully equipped with the Flipper opening system. The OD-1 Flipper system enables the user to open the knife quickly and easily with the ambidextrous "flipper." But here’s the cool part: when the blade is open, the flipper glides into a recess in the liner, giving the OD-1 a slim, smooth line all the way down. To complete the look, the OD-1 has a two-toned handle: textured G-10 on one side and a 410 stainless-steel frame lock on the other.

The OD-1 features the latest in one hand opening technology. Custom Knifemaker Lee Williams "Overdrive" mechanism is the spirit behind the slick Kershaw folder. Another quality Made in the USA.

This knife opens like a dream. I always have a concern about that little flipper thing. It looks so fragile. And the blade design to me would make the tip a little prone to snapping. So I only wear it for suit and tie ocasions. I have the black out version. Everything black. It is a way cool knife and with the opening system on this baby who needs assisted.

I EDC a Benchmade mini griptillian with the spyderco blade. I like that little arc in the blade-- great for slicing and also the tip has top metal that makes it a very strong looking tip compared to the Kershaw OD-1.

I like the sandavic steel very much. Have never sharpened this one yet but the 13C26 was great so I do not see how this one could be bad. The old sandavic "13C26" mentioned above takes on a very keen edge. It is not likely I will sharpen my OD-1 because when used as a suit and tie knife what do you cut a thread off of your pants or suit?

Love the knife but I think something with a little bit better blade geomotry would be better for EDC. I own a spyderco CAT with carbon fiber handle. What a great knife with S30V. But I have so many stinking knives If I do not just pick up my benchmade it takes my scrambled mind to long to decide which knife to carry for the day. So the rest just sit on my dresser top, very large dresser top and it is covered.

Accounts recievable---- 2 cents

Funny... I had to move a bunch of knives off the dresser top to a drawer... now I just choose from eight or nine knives for the EDC. :D
