you know what that really sounds like?
someone at a distance playing with a code finder so they could jack a parked car.

I would, but going to be watching the fights here in a few minutes. I need to check the chat out sometime.

do you think that will help?

yes, it's already came in handy, and my sister, if need be, can easily use my truck.

Now your secret isn't safe. :D

1. opening my tool box is a giant PITA, that requires a few ninja moves to unlock it.

2. It's hidden in the tool box.

3. :D where I'm at the majority of the population drives trucks, it'd be like looking for some hay in stack.

if it requires ninjas how would you open it if you need the key? :D

Wow Katie, I'm glad you're ok.
I just noticed this morning when I was out at the bank that someone tried to break in my car last night. They took some sort of prybar, probably a screwdriver or something, and were trying to pry into the front passenger window all along the center pillar. Luckily it's not that easy to get into an A4 that way because they're overbuilt that way. No plastic around the windows, just metal.
I think it happened last night when I was at my sis-in law's place for her bday. I was outside having a smoke when I saw these 4 teen boys and a girl walking up the street. Four of them were in the street walking along the driver's side of the vehicles and one boy was walking on the edge of the curb, lightly bumping the cars as they walked by. I watched them pass and go about their way. I'm sure it was them that circled back.
I wish I had caught one of them to teach them a little "lesson". I would have called the police to scare the crap out of them and humiliate them enough to remember this occasion and make them think twice about pulling such a stupid stunt again.

Yeah hopefully they would. I used to work plainclothes store security years ago and have caught my share of kids stealing. I'd call in the police and interrogate them in the back room and pretty much have them so scared that any sudden sound and they'd soil their pants.
Something like this is a bit different though. This involves damage to expensive personal property so I'd have been very tempted to slap them upside the head a bit before calling the cops. This sh*t makes me so mad it isn't funny.

i know man petty theft and damage to property like that just piss me off.

I worked retail security for years, had a guy try to stab me with a screwdriver when I stopped him leaving the store. Dude was willing to kill me over a stolen ratchet.

The worse the economic situation gets the more common this kind of crime becomes.

Car theft, break ins, home invasion, petty theft even armed robberies are up around here over the last few years.

The Mrs. rearended an illegal immigrant yesterday in our suburban. He wanted nothing to do with the cops being called so he just left the scene and the suburban is still drivable with a bit of work.

Sad thing is, one of the first things that went through my head when she got home and I assessed the damage was "Cool, it's banged up now....less of a target."

Sad world were living in.

Sad indeed. car thieves trying to use a freaking screwdriver when a proper prybar would work so much faster.

I've honestly stopped locking my doors to avoid broken windows. I also keep my car in as much sight as possible now, and If I catch anyone near it, I don't call the donut squad... If you park away from the pack in a lot, you may have to walk further, but people are less likely to mess with your car when it's in the open like that.

Never wait a month to go grocery shopping. 380 and 2 carts later I left the market. And I didn't even get everything :( I ran out of space in my carts. Lol

:D by ninja moves I meant you got to hit in the right spot for the a latch not to stick, if you didn't know better you'd think it was locked.

Ha, I got round to installing Java again ...

There's a reason CCW permits are more popular than ever, that's for sure.

i wish i could have that out here. :(

Man, this thread is all over the place.:D

I'm not sure if Adam is carrying a gun because he's afraid of the Mrs. groceries or because he has no idea what Java is.
