sure, it's not like i picked the stuff out:p. she filled the basket (with 2 items) and i broke out the debit card:grumpy:. that's what men do, right?:D

they have some shaving supplies i'm probably gonna check out in the near future.

wow rocket. you must be bored too.

I was way too damn busy last week. Went out to hike for the afternoon, that burned off a bit of pent up steam and frustrations.

By the looks of how school and life in general are going right now, you're going to have to deal with a wound-up rocketbomb for the next three or four months! If I survive that long anyway.

it's one of THOSE days.

Put my BOB on today and went for a walk on the walking trail at the park. Felt pretty good. Much nicer to feel like I'm doing something instead of just walking in circles. :D

yes, it was - not only the big stein of beer with lunch, but stopped and bought a fifth of "mystery scotch" while SWMBO was at the Women's Fair in Wichita. (she had her hair done, i looked at motorcycles and bought booze -- seemed like a fair trade)
I now remember why i don't drink blended scotch.

what's a good scotch? i found i really like burboun, and feel like i should give scotch a try, too. it's in my blood, after all.

The Dalwhinnie cigar malt is excellent.
Balvennie doublewood is very good, too. (aged in both oak and sherry casks)
If you like smoky/peaty, the Islay single malts are good. (Laphroaig & Lavagulin come to mind)
Another option - single malt Irish whiskeys - less smoke or iodine, but still pretty decent, Bushmills & Jameson both have single malt versions if you look.

if you ever find yourself up near Topeka, Lawrence, or KC, let me know - it's possible I could provide a sampling.

Otis, I've had a bottle of Balvenie and currently am working on a bottle of Glenlivet, both 12 year old batches. Both are very tasty. The Glenlivet is a bit cheaper and still very good.

I still prefer bourbon by a wide margin, but both of these bottles seem to be pretty flavorful but light. Good for a nice relaxing drink once in a while.

Both are great but I find people who aren't into scotch won't like them the first time around. In college, I use to take a bottle of scotch to parties because nobody would touch them. A bottle of Jack would be gone in 2 seconds flat but the Lagavulin would be just as I left it. Laphroaig is a touch too peaty for my taste.

Another I would like to add to the ones I first suggested is Oban. Another very good, smooth scotch.

make sure that Oban is at least 12 years old - like Scapa, the 8 & 10 year stuff is a bit sharp.
