Interesting day...traded into an Al Mar Payara and a Bark River Bravo...both brand new.

Any thoughts on these two?

the barkie looks like a nice one, well made warranty similar to ESEE. not too sure on the al mar, heard they were nice though.

Yeah I don't think I will have the Al Mar long. Maybe, but I love my Spydies...the Bark I will likely keep but my day pack user is my RC-6. The blade shape on the Al Mar is odd.

yeah it has an odd ukate in it, and it isnt a tanto. but that BRKT should perform well, maybe you could do a comparison thread between that and your ESEE-6

fixed it for ya!
and yes, my ESEE pack kit showed up in the mail today, my M43 kukri showed up Thursday, as did my TAK1.
Then it decided to rain all day today, so i've been messing around the house, doing laundry, etc... so SWMBO has no excuse to make me stay in tomorrow - if the weather is more cooperative.

Oh, yeah - Tony, the PSK I got from you off the trade blanket fits perfect in the front pocket of my kit. Thanks again, bro!

my knives will be here this week.

Picked up my first Al Mar this week, a first gen folder. It's pretty roughed up but it only costed me 20 bucks... some NevR Dull and wet and dry cleaned er up real good. Gorgeous blade, I love the action and the ergo.

I've got a Mini SERE that I really like. Really smooth action and very grippy G10. Plus I love the low ride pocket clip!

Picked up a sweet horn handled AKC Bill DeShiv Leverletto yesterday at a gun show. Did pretty good with the price too.

F&F aint exactly Chris Reeves...but what a sweet little auto.

slept great!
got up at 8, made a pot of tea and a batch of dried cherry & blackcurrant scones, listening to "Me First & the Gimme Gimme's" - the sun is trying to come out, so I'm hoping to spend some time outside today scuffing that pretty RAT cutlery triangle off my new RC6...
life is good.

Been a wonderful morning, spent the first part cleaning my barn and piling compost. The rest of the morning and until present has been spent writing an editorial on United States Indian policies.
I have 1500sqft of cattle fencing to get on at some point here; maybe after lunch.

Never had an Al Mar, but previewed a Brovo 1 for about 4wks; I found the thickness to be a big issue for me, I hated its feel. Utilitarian wise...sure its a big chuck of fricken steel sharpened, it will slice through stuff and can be forced through a great deal of materials without worry of structural failure. If its little tough guy nature doesnt bother you, hold onto it, it will service one well.

had some homemade wine last night. pretty good stuff, too. apple-plum... it and the sailor jerry made me sideways for a little while... but i'm ok now.
