Anything I can do about these scratches?

Tsukumogami, 付喪神, means "tool spirits" in Japanese. The folk belief refers to everyday objects that are in use for 99 years or more and develop or acquire a spirit or consciousness. In the process, of course, they will also show use, age, repair marks, dings, and so forth. Just like people! Compare this to The Velveteen Rabbit, who comes to life only after years of loving attention by the child who plays with him, only after his eyes have been pulled off and reattached, his stuffing reinserted and sewn up, and his velvet finish worn smooth. Every culture has reverence for well used yet cared for objects. This is the start of yours. On its 100th birthday it will have become self aware. May we all experience the same!

Tell us a story

Here is the post I made in the Hinderer facebook group. Rick's a cool dude. He spent a lot of time talking with me and just BS'ing over the course of the last month...very normal, down to earth dude.

Well....how did you get the scratches out? It turned out nice.
Went to a craft store, went to the art section...they had some fine paint markers...forget the brand...very fine tip...basically came out like a marker, not sure why it said paint...but anyway...had a ton of different gray colors. Picked the closest......applied it to the area. Let it like, half dry...wiped off the access...and...that's about it. Turned out pretty good. Better than it was...I'm happy. I was going to leave it go.....but..Lady Earth convinced me I should probably fix it. Glad I did. LOL
