Over the last week i have received a new stonewash persian and roadhouse. Both are very smooth to open with no blade play at all. Maybe Emerson only send the best to us Aussies![]()
I've gotten a couple good Emersons too trust me, it's like 60/40 on the hit/miss for me. But the fit is pretty bad on a few and they just feel forcibly screwed together. The screws don't strip, they use pretty good ones, it's the liners made of soft Ti that give out on me usually. It can be fixed by a trip back to the factory. Again this is an issue that develops over long term, but a lifetime warrantied knife is supposedly expected to be free of defects for that long. A lot of 440C Benchmade griptilians are still alive and kicking that are equally old.
What he does for the soldiers is impressive though and his ethics alone probably sell a lot of knives. I have a lot of respect for the man and I love the CQC-7 design to death, which is why when I had one and if I had another, I can deal with some of these flaws. I'm just in a phase right now of buying much more expensive knives that are perfect in every regard as opposed to 2-3 knives which collectively give me the same joy.
