Apology to Jerry Busse

Dude, what the hell did you use as a baton? It takes a boat load of force to push that blade all the way through the big log. The 1311 is the deal of the year these days. I noticed that they don't go for a lot of money, but they are huge.

Usually whatever I can find. Ideally a big stick, about 3" diameter and 18" or so long, gripped from the smaller end. Think shorter and thicker baseball bat size. It also helps I'm 6'2" and 260#. ;)

In this particular case though, I had brought along some old 2x4's (and 2x6's) about 24" long to easily get the night's fires started (some seen in the fire pit, ready to get the party started), and split a little bit lengthwise off of some of them so that I could grip them (almost in half). I completely busted up three of these 2x4 batons going through those two huge pieces (wound up with lots of splintered 2x4 bits to use as kindling for the next night's fire). When one of the batons snapped in two on one hard hit, it wrapped back around and smashed me in the shin. Ouch! :o Still have the scabs to show for it.

Lol. Yeah, it takes a lot of force to hammer a blade through something that big. Says a lot for the blade, and your shin.

I would love to watch a chop off with knives, especially if money is involved.

However the 'choppee' would have to be a non biased busse person..
