joe sorry for all the hassle. in my efforts to find something out, the alpha has an omega, someone had the balls enough to come forth with some information, that sidetracked as it got, resulted in a clearing up in my mind anyway, i was unaware of how the history of the situation, came to be, now i see, i cant verify it by the one guys comment as iit got censored, anyway buck is now no longer a consideration for me nor a recomendation from me in light of this, no reflection on you thanks again and sorry

Speaking of horses, I'm not sure why canadian1 didn't "see" the light when it came straight from the horse's mouth:

I'm sorry your upset by this policy and believe me, if it was something that made a lot of sense, we would still be offering this service.
Several years back we experimented with this. If a customer sent in their 110 or 560, we would upgrade the blade steel for a price. There were so many issues that came up, that we finally had to scrap the idea. It did not work well and only made customers upset. We have been making the 110 for so many years, and there have been so many variations over the years, we just encountered too many problems. It was a myriad of little things that simply could not be overcome. We would end up sending knives back and forth across the country and to Canada. It was a headache for both us and especially for our customers.
Sorry we cant help you with that but I hope my explanation at least helps a little.

I'm no spin doctor...although I could sure use a doctor now! I'm just Joe and I have worked for Buck for 26 years now. And we are just talking about Buck Knives up here in Idaho. Not Buckamalgomated industries international employing 60 thousand workers with a whole staff of marketing personel to handle bla bla bla....nope, just the 200-ish employees we have right here about 100 miles from Canada. I could bring my rework man in here and ask if he thinks the Blade Swap idea was a good one but I wont. Its Friday and I dont want to ruin his weekend. For a myriad of reasons, it was just a bad idea. I'm obviously darned if I do, and darned if I dont.
I understand that the knife has sentimental value, I totally get that as I have certian knives that are extra special to me.

Perhaps it is a poem...

This is fantastic news. Leaves more knives for people with a lick of sense to choose from and hopefully sends this troll someplace else.

When you apologize to someone, it helps to spell the person's name correctly. :p

I don't guess he was satisfied with just making an "apology." Buh-bye. At least he left with a clear mind. :D

i like the poem version myself. not if only someone could grab a guitar and turn it into a song

I've seen a few posts by this guy. Never understood any of them....I think his love affair with Buck is over.

I'll bet he still pulls out a 110 on his next deer hunt...at any rate, liked the poem idea. Just use a 1,4,5 chord structure and pen the song. It would be a winner and add to the already entertaining aspect of these forums.
