Good morning to all! It’s a beautiful Sunday morning here in Canada, so what better way to put a smile on someone’s face than with a GAW!!

Up for a new home is this...
314016DF-92CC-4A02-88BB-149CD4DD53F8.jpeg
GEC 06 in smooth white bone. This GAW is to say thank you to all the porch members who have “liked” my posts and welcomed me to the porch. I dont know as much as you all about traditionals, but I have enjoyed learning along the way. My collection of slipjoints has soared from 1 to about 12. And I like ‘em all, even this one!

So here are my rules...

Must have a minimum of 30 posts in the Traditional forum. Must have a basic membership or higher. The winner may not sell, but may pass it on to someone else. I will cover shipping to the USA or Canada. I will ship internationally, but winner must cover shipping. Also, please know your knife laws. I cannot be held responsible after I drop it in the mail. :(

I will let this run until Friday, June 5, 2020 around dinner time. At that time I will draw names out of a hat...yes, a hat...I dont know how, or want to know how to use the random generator thingy-ma-jiggy. Lol. My wife will draw the name as to not have any bias. ;) ahaha!!

Please post a photo of your favorite slipjoint! (Optional) Also, please post a thank you to a member on the porch who you appreciate. No need to say why unless you want to.

I’ll start...

Prester John Prester John ...interacting with you on posts in the porch has been a pleasure and welcoming...thank you.
Oh! And @Misplaced Hillbilly...thank you for not jumping down my throat when I posted a thread about lockbacks, not realizing there was already one. Instead you joined in, and didnt make me feel like an idiot. Much appreciated. :)

Lets get this party started!!!

I'd like to nominate r8shell r8shell as well as express my appreciation for her. She always has the wonderful April 1st thread, which is creative and funny; she appreciates knives that I would have thought impossible to salvage because of their state of disrepair, which is admirable; and I know she appreciates small folders about as much as anyone does. Finally, I know this white bone would be perfect if she wanted to do some scrimshaw on it. In short, this is a knife that would be great in her hands.

Edit: I forgot to say thank you for the excellent giveaway Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery !

Edited again for knife content:

The pleasure is mine. What a beautiful knife! This is NOT an entry--I have been blessed way more than I deserve, but I may come back later with an entry on behalf of someone else (I'm getting ready to go somewhere in a little while). Very generous GAW and a great theme!

It’s fine to enter for someone else too.
Thank you for your generosity.
The first person that came to mind when I saw the white bone was r8shell r8shell
So this entry can be for her, she contributes so much to the forum and has entertained us all.
For knife content, I will simply post my most often carried pocket knife... A Jack Black SFO Lambsfoot

I've never owned or even handled a #06, so I'm in, thank you! I'd like to post a sincere thank you to Jack Black for his tireless efforts in bringing the joys of the Lambsfoot to our community.
Difficult to say for sure, because it changes frequently, but this may be my favorite slipjoint.

I’m in! Beautiful knife and just the size I prefer to carry! I hate to mention just one member and leave out all the others I enjoy and appreciate so much, but I have to thank @r8shell, for all the great posts she contributes and especially for some very good advice she once gave me.
Don’t know that I have a "favorite" but this one still seems to wind up in my pocket most often:

Thanks again for a great GAW!

I've not owned or had a chance to fondle an 06 pattern, so I am definitely in.

My 3 favorite GEC.... if I had to pick only one, I'd agonize for days. But it might end up being the all steel 46 whaler. (These are my three all steel models).

thanks tk Flymon. He is the one who got me into GEC. Sent me one, when I asked about their quality.

Not an entry for me, but I want to thank "r8shell" for the laughs she has given me and the amazing scrimshaw she does. This knife would be great for her.
Id like to nominate "afishhunter" for this though.
Gosh, guys. Thank you, I appreciate the appreciation! :)

Thank you for your generosity.

Thanks, John! I'm a startin' ta blush.
:D

Great giveaway. Very generous.
Favourite knife (at present!):
gQ22HnA.jpg

Le Thiers. I love my Laguiole, but I am really smitten with this one right now. (Gift from @timberweasel.) Opinel is another favourite. Those French know how to make great knives.
Love my Langres and my Douk-Douk too!

I will say "Thank You" to r8shell r8shell for her contributions. She always has interesting posts, whether pics or comments. And she has scrimshaw skills! And she got me with an April Fool joke.;):p

And I nominate her to get the knife if I win.
