!!!Appreciation GAW!!! May 31/2020

I’m in! I’ll gladly take the opportunity to show some love for SVTFreak SVTFreak

Even though he is a Louisiana boy, I have enjoyed our exchanges over p.m. He has a good heart, is a family man, and has a Dunlap Stockman that always makes me drool. And, He paid me a compliment earlier today in the ”totin” thread that was too kind. All the best to you my man! Blessings to you and your family.

I would like to be in on this, such a great gesture by Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery .

My thank you will be a collective one to all of the porch members, the shared information, kind words, encouragement and sense of humor is absolutely the best on the forums.

As for my favorite knife it will be the one or two or three that are in my pocket at the time, but if I had to pick one it would be my Case Mini Trapper with Wharncliffe blade, it just always feels right.

I’m in please! I’ve been wanting a small wharnie!

Is there any doubt which one I’ll post?

I couldn’t begin to express my appreciation for everyone here singly that have been kind to me. JonMcD JonMcD for lifting my spirits when they where needed. @r redden for the knives he’s gifted me, lifting my spirits and I’ve won. To @Railsplitter for the knife he gifted me. To @Jsega51 for the kindness he’s shown me and for becoming a good friend. The list would go on but I’ll fill pages!

And as a side note, knives gifted me don’t leave my possession. I have 2 special drawers just for them. Everything from out of the blue gifts here to Christmas gifts, wife’s gifts to me and one even for standing in my brothers wedding. Those all mean something important to me. They are special.

It’s starting to heat up in here. :D That makes me smile. :) Excellent! Keep ‘em coming!

You asked for it.

20200601-175434.jpg

The last one before I got taken away from home in 2017...2016 forum knife...the succeding next circa 18months were possibly the worst time I have ever known.
I love an analogy ..and this time as I was struggling to surface and gasping for air...scared ...alone...and very unhappy..my basic membership of BF expired....When..out of the blue like a giant White Pointer Shark.(but on a different level)...which lifted me ...came a gold membership.....obviously because Im a soooper geenius....it didnt take long to discover my Benefactors I.D.....this was and always will be for me a very important gesture of generosity and friendship and dare I say love?...no better not...too many connotations. Oh what the hell ...yes ...because friendship is a kind of love....
Happy to say I recently renewed that Golden Ticket...like a kind of mutant Phoenix with the head of a Kookaburra I'm risen from the ashes. Thank You again r8shell r8shell .and if our Sharp & Fiery Sharp & Fiery friend says its ok that beautiful little knife will be yours.
Cheers All.:):):thumbsup::thumbsup:

I’m not even sure how to take that post...but I’m gonna assume you are in for “r8shell”. :)

I am not as active here as I used to be so no entry for me this time, but I will gladly give a big thanks to the folks who ride range on this ranch going back to the time I showed up here.
Blues Blues and @Bastid were looking over this special place when I arrived, and
@knarfeng and Peregrin Peregrin are doing the job today.

Both as Mods and contributors we wouldn't have this place without Elliott, Gus, Frank, and Gary.

Thank you.

Great giveaway. Very generous.
Favourite knife (at present!):
gQ22HnA.jpg

Le Thiers. I love my Laguiole, but I am really smitten with this one right now. (Gift from @timberweasel.) Opinel is another favourite. Those French know how to make great knives.
Love my Langres and my Douk-Douk too!

I will say "Thank You" to r8shell r8shell for her contributions. She always has interesting posts, whether pics or comments. And she has scrimshaw skills! And she got me with an April Fool joke.;):p

And I nominate her to get the knife if I win.
Thank you, Vince!

You are most welcome, and thank you. What would we all do without a little Meako in our lives? :)
I’m not even sure how to take that post...but I’m gonna assume you are in for “r8shell”. :)
The Meako-speak to English translation takes a little while to percolate, but eventually all becomes clear. ;):p:D

I'm glad you have found our little sanctuary here on the interwebs. I am amazed on a daily basis with the people on our little corner of Blade Forums. I don't know who dubbed it "The Porch" but my what a perfect concept. No worries about another lockback thread, I was a newbie here not long ago myself. I learn new things here almost every day,and sometimes I still do silly things. Not long ago I did an internet search about a knife which of course there was a thread here about. I found myself hitting the like button on posts in that thread, only to realize the entire thread had been dormant for about 6 years:rolleyes: This is a very generous GAW and another shining example of what makes the porch special . This may seems like cheating not mentioning someone I appreciate, for I truly appreciate EVERYONE on the porch.
Oh as a warning, as of May I've been a member here 2 years, I had 3 traditionals when I joined,

Uh... at last count (several knives ago) it was over 100..
I have lots of favorites :D:thumbsup: so I'm going with one thats become one I just cant leave behind. I've got knives that are prettier, that I like because of who gave them to me,that I like because their old or rare or both, but dang if I can seem to do WITHOUT this one lol

I agree. I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again...friendships are one of life’s blessings. A reason I am a member here. Lots of people sharing the same passion, and hopefully a few great friendships will result from my time “rockin on The Porch.”

Only 100!! Haha. Quite the collection you have. :) Also, if you are the lucky one, patina away!!
I like shiny blades, but I definitely appreciate a good patina. :)
