Oregon is that a gasket around the altoids tin? Great idea on the cd signal! I'm gonna have to do that after the contest

It's electrical tape. Copy the cd signaler now if you want man. I don't own this stuff. Just picked it up here and there over the years. I will say that when you cut into the cd, the foil starts to delaminate. So I'd preferably keep it full size in a bigger kit.

Never know when you may find a soda / candy / newspaper machine - I assume there are still pay phones somewhere... also can be rubbed together to simulate squirrel feeding noises to calm game so you can whack them with a stick. Inflation has made this less useful, as you probably need $1.50 for a soda...
 
I need to take some pix of my altoids kit. I think I have it all together. I still need to find a water bottle or hip bag sized bag for my medium kit.
 
Just posted my bottle/belt kit. I don't think I'm going to get the third one done though. I'm heading for S.C. on Sunday for a paddle/hiking/camping trip and most of my stuff is packed up. Won't be back til the 5th of May.

So you need an extended bag pic, and you have a bag packed for a long camping trip... am I missing something or would that not fit the bill of the 3rd bag?

That's a great point. If everything was in one bag I could just unpack and take a picture. My stuff is scattered out in totes and duffles. I'll get something posted hopefully.

The interesting part is how all the kits start looking pretty close. You play with this stuff for a while and the basics of what works rise to the top...

It's always like that, about half the folks who post up in acceptance, do the challenge. People get busy, forget. No big deal.
