Are AR's prices still rising?

Is the possible ban still increasing the value, or has the value peaked and is now declining?

They have not decreased at all. I think the magazines have increased exponentially the most.

I don't think they're coming back to earth yet, but it kinda feels like they've hit their peak. Let's hope the prices come back on guns AND ammo (hoarders=:barf:)

They might still be rising if they were available to begin with. As it stands, prices are still inflated, but steady.

We find a few deals locally. Prices run $950.00 to $3200.00 depending on features and who is selling. I've seen Ruger Mini-14's of various designs for $850-$1600 regularly in these parts.

B&S in Lufkin is selling stripped polymer AR lowers for $100.00 each and can't get them fast enough. The same lowers at the gun shows are going for $250-$350.00 on dealer's tables.

Bill's in Lufkin was selling .223 ammo for $12.50 per box, I've seen it at the gun shows as high as $25.00 per box.

What really is surprising is seeing Ruger 10/22's going for over $400.00. At the Carthage gun show I know a 10/22 takedown ($399.00 retail?) sold for $500.00 and there was another on a table for $750.00. Some dealers are out to make a living, some are out to make a killing. I have no qualms with the gougers; they just won't get my business. That being said, I did pay a "slight" premium on my Ruger Charger, but I got a 25 round magazine, a Bushnell Trophy electronic scope, and a brick of ammo.

There is really no rhyme or reason to any of the madness right now. East Texas Pawn (Lufkin again) is selling CCI .22LR 40 grain solids for $2.99 per box, limit 2. .22 ammo at the shows has been $55.00 to $80.00 per brick with a few even higher than that. .357 Sig ball is going between $32 and $55 per box at local stores. I can find hollow points for that at the shows so I'm just buying a 50 round box of hollow points at each show I visit. I've lucked into 50 count 170 and 180 grain .40 S&W ball at Wal-Mart for $19.00 per box and 50 count Winchester White Box 180gr hollow points at JJ's for $32.00 per box.

Magazines are another one where you just have to be in the right place at the right time. There are no high-cap magazines to be found for Ruger 10/22 locally, but the same stock Glock magazines that are selling for $50.00 each and up (way up!) at the shows and online are "only" $35.00 each in town.

Sorry for rambling off topic.... back to work!

I've been looking for quite awhile. IMO it has peaked or almost peaked but shows no signs of the prices going down quite yet. At my local gun show 2 weeks ago you couldnt find an AR for less than 1600. Guns that usually go for 700-800 pre-fallout. All my local dealers stay sold out.

If you are looking for a decent price, go online and look for a dealer that isnt in the south. I've found decent prices (1000-1300) on better quality firearms. Still high, but not outrageous. And they go QUICK.

And mags/ammo are even worse...

Is $730 a decent price on the M&P Sport, NIB? I put $100 down on one in December, not realizing it but it turned out to lock in that price for me. I see they are $830 the last time I visited my gunshop.

I just want some .22 LR ammo. That is harder to find than a complete AR around here!!

Yes, that is a good price. (Especially now.) If you don't want it, I'll pay you your $100.00 and take over payments. :)

I watched this video and thought, "4 million rounds per day? That's awesome!" Then saw that it's only 16 pallets worth of ammo for distribution to 50 states. Yikes! They should be running 24/7 right now. I'd trade cooking, cleaning, or toting crates on the night shift for a few boxes if I lived near the factory.

I'm not making payments. I put money down to get a place in line. The waiting is the hardest part. They said a couple of weeks, which turned into a couple of months, which turned into "we don't know when the factory will ship them to us."

It will be my first AR. I purchased it because I thought it might be my last chance to get a fun gun. Wish it would get here. I would have paid full price in December if they'd have had any. The factory is just down the street.... Ugh.

People are still asking overly inflated prices for AR's in my area. I haven't seen any in stores since before Thanksgiving. Individual's are generally asking close to twice what they were originally priced for 6 months ago.

The gun show (Portland, OR) I went to last weekend I saw 40rd boxes of .22 for $9 a box, and 375rd bricks for $70, and that was the norm at all tables that did have .22 ammo.

In today's market, that's a good deal considering MSRP is $839. Once the feeding frenzy on rifle like this dies down, prices will fall just like they did last time. High capacity magazines are more likely to be in short supply.

Prices are still high but the market is starting to reach it's saturation point, imo. I think if you are patient and wait for about 30 or 60 days you will see people who bought multiples start to realize they don't need or can't afford them and they will start to drop in price drastically. $730 for any AR right now is a really good deal so keep your place in line:-) I just finished up to AR builds and each build cost me in the range of $1k. A little high due to the increase of prices but they are solid and have what I want! Good luck!

Prices are coming back down on guns. Ammo is still high and hasnt peaked yet. But yes, here at least we have come back down considerably on AR type rifles and the like

I looked into picking up a couple of extra 17-capacity mags for my Ruger pistol the other day. All the retailers are completely sold out, with no backorder date, and they're selling on the aftermarket for 2-3 times the normal price. Ridiculous.

Ammo has gotta start going down soon " I hope", NJ sucks for just about everything gun related. I think I'm going SW 500 and Springfield XD 45 for the next 2 purchases. Of course in NJ that'll take 3 months.

PM me with the model number and I'll check local sources.

Mags seemed to have topped out and are sellign slower than a month ago.

I would love to sell my AR for insane price but have avoided getting into that mess.

I too would love to be able to get decent supply of .22lr Spring is coming and trips for four to the farm to shoot burn up alot of 22lr. But I will not show up at 06:00 and stand in line or pay 4 times the price second hand, so maybe we will just shoot bows :)
