Hello, I’m new to Bladeforums but have been buying knives for 35 years, collecting knives for about 20 years and just in the last 3-4 years became a more serious collector and have got into higher end knives. Chris Reeves, Hinderer, Medfords etc. I’m thinking about taking a big step into even higher end knives and love the look of the Holt Haptic. I’ve never handled one or even seen one in person. My question is for those of you out there that have Haptics are they worth $1,000 plus?

Thanks for the reply. I’ve got a Hinderer XM-18 gen 6 3.5” skinny. Do you know what size Skiff bearings it would take? A Koenig Arius has better action than a Holt Haptic?

The only bad thing on my Hinderer triway is the detent is so much stronger than my gen 4s that unlocking the lock bar for the blade isn’t as good as my gen 4 XM-18 3.5 that I have on phosphor bronze washers. It has absolute amazing drop shut action and no blade play

Holt knives are getting cheaper every day on the secondary market, people are selling them to net cost already, just wait a bit and you'll soon be able to get one for below retail.

I had never bought a clone and don’t condone it, have always been against it but I bought a Helberg Specter to satisfy my itch to buy a Holt Specter. The Helberg is actually pretty nice with good action for a $160 with the same ergos as a Holt. I bought it on EBay. In the long run I’m glad I bought it instead of spending $1,5000 on a Holt.

I’ve considered a Shirogorov but I’m afraid they’re just as hard to obtain and just as over priced and over hyped as Holts. I like what I believe is the F95 and they’re pretty hard to obtain
