Are knife people cat people or dog people?

I have both. Two dogs and five cats. The dogs are a Rat Terrier and a 1/2 Lab 1/2 German Shephard Mutt who is my woods dog.

I have one Siamese, one Himalayan, and three domestic shorthairs.

I like dogs because of their loyalty and the ability to take them places. I like cats because the ones I have are great lap critters who also happen to be representative of the most predatory creatures that walk the land. My cats are way better hunters than I will ever be. That ability alone makes them cool.

I like cats, but i've never owned one. I've had many dogs, loved them all, I miss them. When my wife and I moved into an apartment that didn't allow cats or dogs, I bought an African Grey Parrot, that is by far the best purchase I've ever made in my life. We've had two Greys for over 15 years. They are too smart, they tell you when they want a drink, they will offer you a beer, what they want to eat, "Peanut", "Apple". I never have to walk them. I can feed them both for under $5 a week. They have never been sick, and could easily live for 60 years. They are funny as hell, as smart as your average two year old, only problem, they're like a two year old with wings, they can get into anything. I don't know if I will ever own another dog. I would get a few more birds, that's another expensive item. I think I'll just stay with knives.

I've always been a cat person (HEY! I'm a Leo okay??), but recently I got a Blue Doberman named Goose that I love to death. He's my running partner most of the time. Great dog, but he's a little too 'zealous' when it comes to our runs!

18 little automatic knives and 4 icepics. Mellow disposition, however.

The characteristics that make some folks hate cats are the same as the characteristics that make other folks love cats.

Your cat should always be smaller than you are.

I like Dogs and Reptiles....My wife Likes Dogs and Cats..... I hate cats, she hates reptiles.....Our agreement is this, she gets a cat as soon as I get a snake!! I already have a Bearded Dragon (lizard), so I'm winning this little game! We have a Boston Terrier and a newly adopted ex-racing Grayhound. We both love them!

Dogs! The only thing cats are good for are speed bumps in school zones!

BIG dog person here though right now I have no dog but 4 cats. I live in the country so they are "outside" cats. They are not allowed indoors.

I am thinking of buying Labrador retriever.

Knife people = logical, tool users, ....
and there are good reasons for keeping dogs.

I can only find two uses for a cat: chasing rodents and drinking excess milk.

Can you cat people think of cat leading a blind? I bet you can

but how would that work???

Two black German Shepherds, four and a half cats outside and two and a half cats inside. We are all one big happy family. The dogs have learned not to chase and kill family members who happen to be cats....that's what groundhogs and racoons are for. What's the fuss about?....dog people...cat people...can't we all just get along?

My family is a hardcore animal family. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, horses, lizards, frogs, and whatever my little sisters dragged home. Even had a pet squirrel at one time. The whole food chain living in our house. One thing for sure, life is better with a pet, whatever it might be. Especially ones that keep your feet warm in bed.

Great pics, folks. We're dog people ourselves.

another cat person here.

you dont have to walk them, you can leave them alone for a week or two(as long as they are outdoorish cats) without any problems, they have far more dignity then a dog ever could, they are a tad smarter then most dogs, and, pound for pound, i cant imagine a more bad-@$$ critter.

dogs are okay, i just find them a bit annoying, slobbery, and smelly.

I'm glad to see so little controversy here!

In all this talk about dogs eating cats (who can take who obviously being a very important topic to many knife people) the dog is always assumed to be much bigger than the cat. In other words, not a fair fight--a 20-foot tall giant oaf holding a tree trunk against a smart person of normal size holding a couple of knives (or something like that).

OK here's MY posturing: I'll put my 18 lb. Maine Coon up against anybody's 18 lb. dog. Anybody's. Here pooch! Here little pooch!

Seriously, you should see this guy take down a rabbit. A simply awesome predator.

BTW, I love dogs too, as long as they don't drool, or make the house smell, or attack children, or dig up my wife's flowers, or get their muddy paws all over my stereo speakers and sofa, or howl and bark in the middle of the night, or . . .

I like both. My wife and I breed Weimaraners, and we have a "rescue" cat who thinks he's a dog.
