are mora knifes good?

I’ve found Moras can be a bit chippy at first, but after a few sharpenings that goes away. I like the Pro versions myself. The
Robust is plenty sturdy if that’s your thing, but the S or C excel for normal wood work or fire duty. I do want to try a Bushcraft Black one of these days.
Bushcraft carbon mirrors the garberg at a lesser cost, do it
 
I agree on all the praise and would like to add that it's the knife that I'll lend you if I'm not shure of what you are going to do with it, like my nieces and nephews(kids).
Makes sense, I never lend my kids out unless I know exactly what they will be doing, but nieces and nephews, that’s what they were made for. Lol
 
For pure practicality and budget-consciousness, it is very, VERY difficult to beat Morakniv products. I have a stainless less-than-$20 MoraKniv Companion in my vehicle for general-purpose use, and have employed it for many different things.

Should I break, lose or merely forget it, no big deal.
 
yes moras are slicers. but for "expeditions" where I have to use a knife a lot, I rely on a pukko instead. I don't have much confidence in the thinness of the blade, it's true that pukkos are hardly thicker but still... and they are more beautiful to look at
 
I never liked the garberg, aesthetically or functionally. Either the grind should have been higher or the stock thinner. The classics are still worth it imo, even at the increased price, as are the cheaper plastic handled ones. I have a 106 on the way and was pleased to see the new changes they made to the design (much better lines) including the full carbon steel due to the laminated steel shortage from covid.

all opinions are welcome, and I don't have one because I have never had one of these.
I own a chisel knife, a cork knife, carbon steel companion, stainless companion hd, carbon robust, fillet knife, fish scaler knife, garberg, 3 wood carving knives and 2 spoon carving knives from Mora.

These perform like knives that are 5 times the price, and allow me to keep a ton of money in my pocket.
You can’t go wrong with any Mora. Only thing I’d suggest is avoid their new, expensive, “sustainable” line (with wooden handles) - these are crazy overpriced.

For that kind of money I can get LionSteel for example

that's brutal... it's less than 100 euro direct from mora, and the U.S. average price for it is like $57, here's the price history at well known monopolistic online retailer:

Like a lot of others, I would say that Mora knives are definitely a good value. They are basic, solid knives at a very inexpensive price. What's not to like?

Two "U"s in puukko 😉. Plural is puukot.

And yeah, the Mora rocks, as my posts insist, but a true  puukko is a whole different animal. Still, the Mora is a great gateway to the world of Scandinavian knives and thence to Finland, which is A WHOLE 'NOTHER WORLD! 😆

My Eldris has become my most used knife. I’ve spared fire steels, cit steak, prepped tinder, and chopped/sliced veggies. Ives used it for miscellaneous tasks. The narrow tip makes it slicier than the other Moras. The tip slices through bell pepper. I use it all the time to make beef stew.
It’s still the same grind angle and it’s not any different to sharpen.

I really wanted to love the eldris but alas it was just too short for me handle wise. I do like the variable grind on it for the smaller size, I worry about it on the kansbol but I think the kansbol is the best all arounder of those 3 that were released.
 
^^I would love the Kansbol without the extra grind on the tip. Handle, blade, sheath makes a good overall package imo. But not with the thinned out area. It’s already thin enough. On the Eldris, it’s ok, doesn’t make me feel like it compromises the blade at all being so short. Less leverage, maybe?
