Are SAK's any good?

Edit: would you guys reccomend filling off the serrations or are the serrations shallow enough that they will still allow for precision cutting?

Before making a decision, try using the blade as is for a while. You may like it; I do.

I've been searching around for a bit and apparently plain edges are better in almost all respects.

If that opinion is from internet chatter, take it for what it is. There are many well informed opinions on both sides, also many not so much. Consensus can provide some guidance, but trust your own experience first.

what do you guys think?

I don't have a general opinion on serrated v. plain edge. Choices depend on particular blades and purposes. Speaking for myself, I like the OHT blade. It does a good job on materials I usually encounter, holding sharpness much longer than Vic PE blades. Your cutting needs, however, may be different.
