Are Spyderco boxes PRINTED in China?

Remember who said this?
You seem to have much more feelings invested in this box than I.
Then looking at your last three posts in this thread.
All I've gotta say is I'll probably buy more Spyderco knives if I see one I like.
Also, apologies to Sal for having to deal with all this nonsense.
I still like my two Spidy's, and probably won't ever sell them. :)

Hehe. Just proving a point. I have no emotions involved like some here. Im not the one with the complaint.

Spyderco should just put their knives in a damn bag if it will keep people from complaint about politics...geez...

Just now noticed this thread, but I agree with stays sharp. Don't play this "American Made" only b.s if your not "really bout that life".

You want to be heard? There's an election going on everyday and you vote with your dollar. Big time CEO's give two dumps about what you say, they care about where your money's going. As long as "Patriots" continue to be frugal, businesses will to.

Sorry, didn't mean to hurt anybodies feelings. To me a knife is a tool. I have a Spyderco in my pocket at the moment because I like it. On any given day it may be a Benchmade, an ESEE, or one of my old SCHRADE U.S.A. made knives. My only stipulation is that it be made here in the U.S.
Now if I like the knife, but it went up a couple bucks because of the box, I would still buy it.
OTOH, when you loose your job because it went over seas, I would be offended for you. I'm sorry if that is wrong.
Many jobs in my lifetime have actually been lost due to technology and automation. When Americans nowadays won't even work in the farm fields to harvest our crops,I doubt making little cardboard boxes is a job that's really being sought after.Spyderco knives are so amazing they can barely keep up with demand.Sal Glesser is a genius,I think he knows what's best for his business. :)

Oh sure they do, and always have.....

It's just they won't work for those illegal alien wages that some of the more corrupt business owners are willing to pay...... ;)

That's the difference...

Retail packaging in America is a $100 Billion+ industry. Almost everything we buy comes in some sort of cardboard or plastic container. I'm sure the company that used to print Spyderco's boxes print other things and loosing one account may not be a game changer, but little numbers make big numbers. Imagine if all retail goods started getting there packing materials from overseas. I doubt it will never happen as logistically I can't see it making sense, but I could be completely wrong.

Making boxes may not be glamorous but if there is money to be made, which in this case billions, it will be a job that is sought after.

Working the farms isn't a career, most have green cards.

All this flap over packaging while we post on computers made in China, wear tennis shoes made in china, own a TV from Asia, buy a cell phone from Asia, drive a car made in Japan,or an American car built with foreign parts fueled by oil from countries that hate us.Imho some of you guys are a little disingenuous complaining about the Spyderco box. Anyone that buys nothing but USA made items please weigh in with your opinion.;)

Pardon me but is this the Whine & Cheese forum??
:D

It happens here at times :D:thumbup:

A 5 year old thread, and no one(maybe 1) really cares that much about where the boxes are made, yet people can't quit complaing about those people even though those people don't even exsist.
Too funny:D

No one really cares where the boxes are made people. Just let the 5 year old thread die already:p

The person that pays for them cares.;)

No, he doesn't care that they are made in China either. It was his idea:D

He also said it in this thread like 5 years ago:rolleyes::p

No one really cares. Spyderco knows what they're doing. Lets please let it die until it gets brought back up in another 5 years:p

I don't know why people keep using this argument when obviously it's impossible to buy everything made in USA as some things just aren't made here, but when the option is readily available I choose to buy made in USA or Western Europe instead of saving a few bucks on something Chinese. For example I own a Moto X, it's not made in USA but is assembled in Texas which unfortunately is about as good as it gets.

You are right though the thread should die, I was mainly replying to those belittling the box makers :) Spyderco was probably such a small account it makes no difference, heck the entire sporting knife industry is less than a 1/10 of the size of the retail packaging industry anyway
