Are Tac-Force knives any good?

Good lord.
Don’t knock it til you try it, baby-boy! When I was in the special ops, this tac force saved my life a few times while we (tac force and I) took a few of our own ourselves. BIG TALK coming from someone who hasn’t been there. It became an extension of my hand. If I could do it over again, I’d dummy cord a mirror to it, so they could literally see their life flash before their eyes.

Tonight I have made the decision to trust my life to Tac-Force knives with the recent stellar reviews. It sounds like the perfect fit for my high risk security job.
Have you ever had to cut your way out of a pile of corpses? Only had the best knife your stipend could afford? If you answered no, you might just be a civilian, pal. Tac force is the best kept secret to operators. Disposable tools for disposing of tools.

I'm gonna disagree with you about this, you can't reasonably compare a knife that is 15 dollars to one that is 5 times that price. I bought a karambit from them just to see if they're any good, and in my opinion they're not bad for what you're paying for. I think that for the low price, it help up well. The action was honestly way better than I was expecting and it opened smoothly and quickly. Also it felt really nice and looked really cool. So I think they're underrated, if you're just looking for a cheap cool looking knife.
Welcome to BF ! :)

You have responded to a thread from 2017 !

I don't own any Tac Force , but I wouldn't trust them for any hard use , especially self -defense .

Get a Cold Steel Black Talon II or a Tiger Claw , if you want something beyond a cosplay toy knife .

I just use my MP5K with a Starlight scope for that one. Time is money.

Aside from the extra die roll against enemy ninjas and/or mercenaries, these are pretty bad.

I actually had a Tac-Force IRL, maybe from 2016. Too bad I wasn't here to answer this thread when it was relevant, but all the worst guesses are true. I don't remember if it was assisted but I do remember that the action was janky and the lock-up was downright unsafe. It had a ludicrous amount of lock rock and blade play. The lock was easy to fail. There was scale play. The blade was probably 3Cr13 (yes, that's a "3" and not a mistyped "8"). I didn't keep it long enough to confirm the edge retention. :(

Thank you for your service!!

Once upon a time, before I knew anything about knives, I needed to replace a couple knives that I had used for almost 10 years. I got a Tac-Force because it was the highest rated knife on Amazon at only $10, and it was orange. I did not realize that most Amazon customers were clueless about knives. It's a flipper, but if you just flipped it without flicking, the lock would not engage reliably. This problem resolved after breaking it in for a few weeks. But the big problem was that I had to sharpen it every week (420 steel).

Several years later, I saw a Boker Magnum Air Force Rescue Flipper 3-3/8" Black Combo Blade, Blue Aluminum Handles - 01LL473N that looked remarkably similar to the Tac-Force. I bought it out of curiosity. It had slightly better steel (440) but had the same problem with the lock not engaging unless I gave it a firm flick. Other differences appeared cosmetic. It cost $24.

I don't buy Tac-Force or Boker Magnum knives anymore.
