Off Topic Are TG, BGAD and SOB California legal?

California's laws are great or as good as could be expected, gun laws are a little off but all in all I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. But I live in the mountains away from all the craziness of the city.

Yeah. The gun laws suck. Sacramento constantly cramming their hands deeper and deeper into our pockets sucks too. Over regulation that hurts businesses and sends them out of state is a problem too.

But we don't have hurricanes, tornados, softball sized hail or other wrath of God type weather to deal with. So we have that going for us.

Pot never hurt nobody.

Yeah, the illegality of it does the most harm, and the illegal grow operations on public lands do a lot of harm but the plant itself, at least in my experience is pretty benign. I smoked daily for a long time then one day up and quit like it was nothing. I shudder to think what I would have gone through with any other substance. My current caffeine addiction is a bitch for example :D:D:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Same here. One day I decided that it wasn't worth risking my job over. But if it ever became legal at the federal level.........Mmmmm-hmmmm.

A, don't move here.

B, if you do , buy as many off list pistolas you can afford. Ain't getting 1/2 of what you can get in the free world. A 4th gen glock goes for 850-1000.

:confused::mad::(:mad::eek::oops:

soooooooo are you guys gonna start a "Hemp Micarta" death chat or....

Don't get me started, that's one of the things that soured me on cannabis in the first place, when I was an impressionable student in the 90s I totally bought into all the great industrial uses for hemp fibers and derivatives, and some medicinal uses, but in hindsight it really was all about legalizing smoking - which is cool but I feel bamboozled now that its been legal forever but the industrial kind of fell by the wayside.

Id love to see hemp used more widely in industry, Id be first in line for hemp micarta but Im afraid its all just a pipe dream at this point :oops::rolleyes::thumbsdown::(

I have worked in the medical marijuana industry for 10 years now on one level or another building greenhouses, indoor rooms, and doing consulting. So it is part of my job requirement to smoke. I have seen alot of people turn their lives around by using medical marijuana to kick painkiller abuse or find relief from horrible ailments. The legislation for recreational use is a mistake in my opinion since the medical marijuana program had it covered for almost 20 years now. As for industrial use it is more complicated than you think since there has always been so much taboo around the plant nobody grows full on fields in regions like the midwest where large agriculture can happen on an industrial level. The best strains for fiber and oil are not the same as the best strains used for medicine or recreational use. But I am rambling, I am all for a hemp micarta.

Thanks for the inside view, makes sense.

I bought a couple Hemp leisure shirts that were OK, but pretty expensive. Also a lot of times hemp clothing would have a pot leaf on it so theres no way most people could wear it to work.
There was a guy on Venice Beach for decades with his "hemp as fuel for cars" literature stand.

Who could ever forget Harry Perry!

Yeah, same goes for rasta colored accessories, bags and hats and such. No, I'd like to see regular clothes made from hemp blends without the look-at-me-I-smoke accessorizing :D:thumbsup:

“California laws are great...” + “...away from all the craziness of the city.”
Isn’t it the folks in the city that most of the time create the California laws in first place? If folks in the cities are crazy, that would explain why California laws to outsiders eyes looks crazy as well. :p

I had to leave California back in the 80’s because they didn’t care about Deaf Education. :(

But I would love to go back and explore everything nature there away from the “craziness of the cit(ies)”. At least I know my knives are basically safe there if I use them in the wilderness unlike New York...

Excellent point that about sums it up perfectly, thats why some of us are for separating northern California and southern California into 2 states. If only we could separate it by rural and city.

I don't think the push for recreational use is a mistake. It being illegal makes about as much sense to me as prohibition on alcohol. I know guys who are/were also into growing for medicinal purposes that feel the way you do about it but to be 100% honest, their opinions are based on the fact that legalization cuts into their business.

This is exactly why California needs to be broken up into a few smaller states. As it is LA and SF basically rule the entire state. When they outgrow their water resources the first thing they do is use their political muscle come after ours.

The profit cuts are definitely a factor in being against full legalization. for me it has always been more about the fact that being considered a medicine helped people be more accepting of the plant. Also already there is big business interests being served in this state as a result if legalization, permits for growing are difficult to obtain and companies like Monsanto are moving in to patent strains. Small farmers are going to be pushed out same thing as all around the globe as large companies gobble up the small ones and profits find their way into the pockets of a select few.
Gone a bit off topic but always good fun here on this forum
