Are the Orange Manix 2's shipping yet?

Back in the mid 90's I picked up my first good knives from Jeff at the CS shop (Emerson Benchmade 975 and Gryphon Boot Knife, still have both). They had a showroom in Boise and later in nearby Meridian. I loved going in there to buy knives. No showroom these days, just online. Still one of my top three places to buy from.
 
Got my shipping notice too. Hope it's here soon. I need to make a lightbox to take some pictures of this one.
 
How did I miss this one? While searching a auction site for a baby stroller. I was sidetracked when I entered "Spyderco".
One of the items that perked my curiosity?!?? Manix II- Orange G10 ???:eek: WHOA ! Wait a...
I arrived here ASAP...

WOW! I love the orange. Hits ya right in the face.


I have a pink manix and this compared to it is like day and night.

You can really feel the weight difference between the two.

Mine arrived just now.

The F&F is pretty good. I'm comparing it side by side to my CTS-XHP M2. The caged BB on the orange M2 engages slightly deeper in the groove, the edge is a little thicker behind the bevel and the finish is slightly different on the back spacer. The pivot is smooth and lock up is tight. There is the typical "tiny bit of looseness" side to side but there's less of it on the orange M2. I'm guessing this is the normal range within manufacturing tolerances. Everything is spot on.

I'm very happy with the quality of the new M2. Thanks, Jeff and Sal!
 
Noticed the same (comparing standard, S90V, blue, pink and CTS-XHP Manix 2s). That made me wonder whether these have the realigned lock geometry Sal mentioned a while back.

Anybody read the Edge-U-Cation sheet that came with theirs? It says the orange M2 is a sprint run for Moteng out of Poway, CA.

Huh? I know Cutlery Shoppe is in Iowa. What gives?

I got my shipping notice around 8pm ET last night and the knife was in the mailbox today, and I'm in MA, which is about as far away from Jeff as you can get and stay in the lower 48 - go figger. :) :thumbup:
