Are you a seller or a keeper?

For the most part I consider myself a keeper. The ONLY time I’ll sell a knife is if I have something else on my radar.
But it has to be something I KNOW I want, and I always seem to regret about 50% of everything I sell, eventually.
My XM-24 and my Shiro Quantum Ursus are a couple examples of knives I acquired from selling others, and are probably my 2 favorites, so it was worth it for sure.
But the more knives I buy, the more I know what I like.

I've sold a couple, but pretty much because I needed to fund something else. Sold a custom Remington 700 and my '21 forum knife last summer to pay for my dog to have cancer surgery. Other than that I'm always afraid that if I let something go I'll regret not being able to give it to the kids.

Plus I don't have much of any value, even my higher end stuff winds up used so hard that any resale value is gone.

I've pared down to a few users, a few keepsakes and a few knives that aren't worth selling. I have a few that I'll give away, when the opportunity arises.

I'm pretty much too much of a keeper. I am coming up to a point where I do need to shed some knives that I don't use. We were just visiting family a few weeks ago so I ended up gifting three. One thing I am not is a flipper :)

Seller. I’ve moved on from a lot of cold steel, ZT, Spyderco, Benchmades….gotten into traditionals….but realized Case turns out a lot of shady WC Knives. I’ve never returned a knife from any brand except Case. It’s really frustrating.

I have some in these 3 categories: Never, maybe, fodder.

The never sell category is pretty set in stone, but the other two are fluid. I’m a wheeler dealer with those and love the fluid nature of trying out a bunch until one moves up into the keeper pile.

I've got somewhere around a couple hundred knives and given away somewhere around twenty knives over the years. I've never sold a knife into steel slavery. Unlike other things I own, for some reason I've never had someone come up to me with a fist full of cash and ask me what I wanted for my knife either...

I need to start selling some stuff off. I have a good 30-40 knives I want to move on from, but I feel like it would be a real mess trying to sell them all at once. I'm considering putting up a big post of them on trading board, just to see if I can nab a couple things I've been trying to track down for ages. If not, it might drum up some interest at least, and I can start moving them over to sell. I don't know. Still sounds like a pain. Anyone got any tips for selling off a lot at once?
