Okay, so this thing is going to be like a series of vignettes. Because this year's Experience was a family vacation, there is a lot of the show, and a lot of people, that I missed.

There was a real social vibe, which had a lot to do with the venue, and you'll see why soon enough. High ceilings, tons of natural lighting and an open floorplan designed for flow really took the level up a notch this year. A LOT of people (everyone) expressed their approval of the venue change.

Daniel O'Malley- well done, sir! You are an excellent host and knife show entrepreneur! They spoke, you listened- sometimes it's simple as that. Thank you :)

That social vibe limited comprehensive/overall coverage, since I got involved in a bunch of interesting conversations with interesting people. Result is I missed out on meeting or re meeting others who'd I'd have loved to spend a little time talking to, taking pictures of etc. I knew that going in, so I tried to bring some depth into those I was able to spend some time with.

To those whose faces and work is not presented here; I'm really sorry I missed you! It wasn't a preference thing, and actually had a lot to do with your proximity to the front door, lol!

This Experience will be sequential in nature, starting with Dave Lisch's PreFunk;

The best of Seattle: Jimi and the Seattle Knife Show...?

Only my second knife show and pretty overwhelming. And, yes, quite an experience even if I did have to leave a little early. Who won People's Choice and Makers' Choice awards?

Who made the acid? Owsley has been dead for a few years now.\

There are some pictures on the first page of the General subforum.

I have 161 photos to upload, plus video- the uploads are happening concurrently and taking forever on this PoS computer. This thread will likely take a couple days to build, since I gotta get out into the forest for a bit today :)

Room was full of people on Sat. Like all shows Sun. was slower but I still saw knives being sold . I'm for sure looking forward to the next one. Beside seeing old friends was able to meet some people I've been in discussions with on this forum. It was a real pleasure. Andrew Meers for sure had some cool stuff. Really liked a kitchen knife Adam DesRosiers had was blown away at how thin it was.
Super venue all natural lighting Thank you Daniel O'malley.

Hello Lorien!

Can't wait for your show report, my friend! Last year's outing is still my favourite show report ever and I expect this to be no less of a ride! ;) Next best thing to actually being there!

All the best,
Alex

This is going to be good. I enjoyed talking with you Lorien. Yes !!! Best show in some time. Thanks to Daniel and the entire Bill Burke family who were busy all weekend taking care of us.

It was a pleasure meeting you and your family Lorien, looking forward to the show recap.
I sure had a good time, it was pretty humbling being in that room with some of the best.

whew! Back home and some beautiful trail making weather. Got a lot more done than I thought I would today.
Major show update tomorrow. For now I will eat and sleep.

Awesome, Lorien. Is that your backyard? I will have to send you some pictures of mine. Miles of sagebrush!

Good Lord, that's not a trail, it's a highway! You make the Forest Service look like pikers. Enjoy!

I moved this post to the next page for better flow
