Are you known as a "knife guy", or do you keep it on the DL?

I make a concerted effort to keep it on the down low. I never hesitate to use my knives if I need to, but most of my friends are surprised or intrigued when they find out about my obsession.

How about you?

I am well known in my area as a knife guy! Get ask lots of questions about different knives. :D Kevin
Also known for guns too!!!:D

With close friends & family, they all know I'm a knife nut :)

With everyone else, I keep it on the DL.. To many sheeple generalize knife guys to the night slasher from Cobra lol :D

Friends and family definately know about my habbt, but thats about it.

Most people know me as the knife guy.

my neighbors especially. I made sure to let them see that I have many knives when I moved in and I carry my knifebag for work daily.

I guess theres certain benefits to being known as the knife guy ;)

Close friends and family know just because they've been around me enough to need a knife and I'm the only one with one. Nobody else does unless they recognize a pocket clip.

My friends and family know about my knife obsession. Otherwise it's on the DL to the point that I don't use pocket clips to carry my knives.

Everybody knows me as "the knife guy" people often ask me what knife they should buy. Im also known as "the sharpening guy" but I guess that comes with the territory.

I'm discrete with my carry, and use, of my knives.

Similarly to most all above me, the habit is too addicting and obvious to be kept hidden from my family

Maybe? I'm very discrete about using my knives but it's hard not to be known as knife guy when you have a nessmuk tattoo on your forearm. ;)

I try to stay on the DL in public, but I don't really have a problem with taking out my knifes in public. Course I don't carry anything too scary so I can get away with it. :D

To my friends and family sure. To my coworkers, only those that I know are cool with it or at least not going to make a stink about it.

I'm known as the knife lady, and I'm cool with that. No shame in my game.

If I may ask, why so discreet?

I personally don't worry about it. People are pretty cool with knives around where I am. Also, I don't think I have quite as many knives or quite the level of dedication to the hobby as many here, so it's less apparent. My girlfriend knows of course, but she just kinda thinks it's quirky. I show my new knives to my friends, speak to people who I notice carry nice knives, and use mine in public when I need to. I don't really remember any bad reactions, other than to price tags or objections to the need for another knife.

I try to keep it on the DL in the sense that i dont tell it to everyone, but i dont try to hide it. My family and friends know im a knife nut. Some kids my age have a knife themselves but most dont.
