Are you known as a "knife guy", or do you keep it on the DL?

I'm probably known more as a gun guy.
I make no secret of my love for things sharp, and pointy, but I guess a bit overshadowed buy the firearms.

I own a gun shop that specializes in Title II (class 3) firearms. As such, everyone that knows me knows that I'm always playing with full-autos so the thought of me carrying a knife might almost be a relief!!!

My friends and family all know about my knife hobby, and pretty much anybody who spends time with me will eventually learn about it. However, more than for knives, folks know me for always having tools, flashlights, a first aid kit, etc. handy.

I try to keep a low profile around people I don't know well, but not about knives in particular. I'm especially quiet around guys who seem to have a need to voice an opinion on topics they don't know very well (it might sound a bit pedantic, but I hate unsolicited advice).

Definitely known as the knife guy if I go to some1s house they even ask me what I new knife I have found
I cant have knives at work but everyone there knows how into knives I am as well

Definitely keep it on the down low. My immediate family is very familiar with my knife obsession, as is my girlfriend and my best friend. I usually conceal my knives, don't like people knowing I have them when in public. Mostly because it draws attention and I usually keep a low profile around people I don't know.

most people I know well know I always have my knife on me, so I'm the guy with the knife in that regard.

however most don't know just how many I have and might be weirded out by my "collection", which is really small compared to most here haha.

My family and a few friends know of my hobbies. I won't initiate the topic, but if someone were to broach the subject I wouldn't hesitate to engage enthusiastically.

I am the knife guy. I don't flaunt it, But I don't hide it either. Of course my family knows. I am around the people at work enough that most of them know.

I've been interested in blades and weaponry for over 2 decades now. I've read and learned at least a little bit about everything from small folders to heavy artillery, so basically anyone who knows me knows if they want to know something about knives(or swords, or guns, or whatever) they can ask me and I can either answer or at least direct them somewhere that has the answer.

Like the rest of you it is mostly family and close friends that are aware of my "fetish" for sharp steel. I have really enjoyed doing my best to turn those closest to me into knife carriers themselves, and am very happy with the results!!

Hard for me to hide it, I work in a shop full of knives and sharpen for many people daily.

Most of my friends and family know I'm a knife guy, but people see my knives only when I need to use them.

As my department's armorer, everyone at my job associates me with guns and knives. After a raid last week I was brought big bag of knives that were confiscated, I started drooling...all Frost Cutlery though...sigh...

I have a few friends at work who are knife owners that I sometimes chat with about knives, and of course my wife wonders about this odd hobby of mine. However, in general I just carry a small knife or two as tools every day, just like I carry pens, a comb, keys, and change. I'm not known as either a "knife guy" or a "pen guy" or a "pocket change guy" even though I usually have all of the above with me most days.

For the most part I keep it on the DL. My family, girlfriend, and occasional co-workers know. It frustrates me how it is perceived by some. Most people arent taken aback by people having large gun collections, but when people hear I collect knives they immediately make serial-killer type remarks. Why is that? If anything having and being able to use knives is more useful than having a safe full of guns you never use.

I don't make a show of it, but I will use one when needed. People must pay attention because the other day a lady handed me my crkt 16 and said "pastor I think you dropped this"
Last time I carry in my back pocket : )

I think I fall in line with most of the people here. I don't advertise it and make soke effort to be discrete, but anyone that spends a significant amount of time around me will figure it out. My friends, family, employers and coworkers all know but only one or two patients who are also 'knife guys' know that I even carry one.

my family knows otherwise I keep it low key. One time we had some friends over and decided to brag and show off my collection. BIG MISTAKE most people were in awe and till this day think I am nuts he-he.
